2. Oculus Rift is the world’s most wanted virtual reality device
and it won’t be that much longer until you can get your hands
on it.
The American virtual reality company, Oculus VR has recently
announced that its most anticipated product, the Oculus Rift
will hit the markets in 2016, with pre-orders starting later this
year.
What’s this all about?

3. Why are we waiting for virtual reality?
The dev-kit version of the Oculus Rift was announced in
August 2012 and the device was predicted to be available for
consumers by 2014.
It was then said that the company would start shipping the
device by summer 2015. But it’s now looking likely that
technology fans will have to wait until early 2016.

4. What can we expect from Oculus Rift?
Oculus Rift is a virtual reality head-mounted display, which
uses hardware from the Crescent Bay prototype that was
revealed last September. For a comfortable fit, the Rift features
a very sophisticated design and ergonomics.
Oculus has stated that the 360 motion tracking and integrated
audio features in the Crescent Bay will be used in the Rift.
The improved tracking system will be favourable in both sitting
and standing scenarios.

5. Virtual reality competition
As Oculus Rift hits the markets, the first opponent is Zeiss VR
One which can be used on Android and iOS.
It will also have to compete against Sony's Project Morpheus
for PlayStation 4, which is expected to hit the markets in the
first half of 2016. There is also Microsoft HoloLens, with a
release date yet to be announced.
