The Customer
As one of the largest telecommunications companies in the industry, the customer offers an array of voice,
data, network and IP solutions to consumers and businesses around the world. With over 100 years in
business and more than 200 countries served, the customer provides end-users with market-leading LTE and
Wi-Fi network coverage for phone, television and web-based communications.

The
Challenge
With bilingual customers in 90 key market areas and strict
drop dates for their printed pieces, the customer needed an
awareness program that would spread the message about
local 4G LTE coverage areas while delivering personalized
pieces to homes across the country – at the same time and
on the same schedule. Key concerns included the volume of
records, the number of variable design elements for each
piece and an emphasis on reducing postage costs.

The Process
The print professionals at am4m worked alongside the customer’s marketing team to determine postcard drop
dates and develop a production schedule to match. Two EarthColor facilities worked concurrently to handle
printing and production, while a national trucking plan was created to ensure speedy delivery of the postcards
to customers around the country. am4m and EarthColor also coordinated the use of Intelligent Mail Barcodes
and Sectional Center Facilities on all drop shipments to provide the customer with deep postage discounts.

Solution

for personalizing, printing and distributing close to
4 million pieces to households in under 12 days.
EarthColor’s industry-leading variable data print
capabilities allowed the customer to personalize
full-color postcards with coverage maps, store
locations and relevant messaging for each
recipient – and with printing and production
divided between EarthColor facilities across
the country, the customer could rest assured
postcards were being delivered as quickly and
economically as possible. As a testament to the
effectiveness of the first mail run, the customer
has continued to work with am4m to distribute
monthly mailings.
