2. Safety
When I went out to take my photos I made sure that I did not
fall into the river that I was shooting. Also to protect the camera
a made sure that the camera strap was around my neck at all
times, so if I did drop the camera be accident it would not fall
into the river. I also made sure that I caused no danger to the
people around me by not taking photos when people are
around me. This was also the same at the lake district because
there are many rivers that I could fall into. When I was in Exeter
we went to Exmouth tog et some photos of the sea so I had to
be careful I didn’t fall off any of the walkways because they
were quite high up.
3. Location/Time Of Day
Most of my photos where taken at Carding Mill Valley, But I also
went to Exeter and the Lake District. When I went to Carding
Mill Valley I took the photos round about 1 o’clock in the
afternoon. I did this because I wasn't too bothered about getting
a good shadow effect because I mainly focusing on the rivers, I
did take some photos of the landscape there but I don’t think
that the shadows were needed. When I went to the Lake
District, I took the photos at approximately 11 am. I also made
sure that the mountain range photo I wanted the sky to be
gloomy so it added a dark feel to the photo. With the frame
within a frame photo I went out at about 10am to get the sun in
the right place. In Exeter I took the photos at about 3 o’clock, I
did this because for the light direction photo I needed the light
to be on an angle.
4. Photographer Inspiration
Mary Kay – She has done a few shutter speed photos and this
made me realise how good they actually look. This also
inspired me to take river photos to use different shutter speeds.
Ansel Adams – he inspired me to take a photo of a mountain
range because of how many mountain range photos he has
taken.
5. Technical
On my shutter speed photos I have put a 2 second shutter
speed and an aperture of f29 so the exposure on the photos
would be correct. The ISO I used for most of my photos was
100 because I didn’t want the photos to be too bright and I
didn’t want them to have lots of digital noise. On the shutter
speed photos, I used 100 ISO as well, because the day was
quite bright, so it would of come out over exposed id I used a
higher ISO.
6. Composition
I think some of my photos have a good composition because I
think they have been framed well, also I have used good
placement for the main attraction of the images on the rules of
thirds lines. I have also done some leading lines photos so this
attracts the eyes of the viewers. Also on my river photos I have
placed the river so it goes from one side of the image to the
other. So the river will go all of the way through the image.
