Presentation to Min. for Sustainability, Climate Change & Innovation - Nov 08 05/07/11 04:03 #391363 Well known to everyone in Gladstone. Difficult times for Gladstone industry. World scale facilities. Whilst that doesn’t isolate the from a global economic crisis and there may be slow downs in production and reduced repairs and maintenance they are not going shut down and Gladstone will not se the catastrophic effects in other areas with industry closing down and destroying regional economies. Increase social impact awareness. Set Gladstone Industry Leadership Group with a voluntary code of conduct focused on operating in a an environmental and socially acceptable manner . Also ahandy vehicle to lobby Government through.
At the end of April 2011, there were 94 projects at an advanced stage of development, with a record capital expenditure of $173.5 billion. This represents a 31 per cent increase from October 2010. The record value of advanced minerals and energy projects reflects, in part, the decision to proceed with the development of the Gladstone LNG project and BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals and Rio Tinto’s commitment to several coal and iron ore developments over the next three years.
