AGRI COMMODITY DAILY WRAP UP…..!!!!
POTATO FUTURE
Potato futures traded 2.06% lower at Rs 1,311 per quintal today after speculators trimmed positions as the
government imposed stock holding limits in a bid to improve availability and rein in prices. At the Multi
Commodity Exchange, potato for delivery in August plunged by Rs 27.60, or 2.06%, to Rs 1,311 per quintal in a
turnover of two lots.
TURMERIC FUTURE
Cardamom pricesshot up by 1.78% to Rs 939.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions
amid positive cues from spot markets. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in July rose by
Rs 16.40, or 1.78%, to Rs 939.10 per kg in a business turnover of 656 lots. Similarly, the spice for delivery in
August gained Rs 8.80, or 0.97%, to Rs 919 per kg in 200 lots.
DHANIYA FUTURE
ANCDEX data show that the price of dhaniya for July delivery increased 12.5% to . 10,990 per quintal (100 kilos)
over June. 'In addition, no deliveries have taken place in the commodity since April, though allocations for
delivery were made. For instance, against allocations of 2,100 tonnes in April, 400 tonnes in May and 120 tonnes
in June, zero deliveries have taken place.
SOYABEAN FUTURE
Indian soybean and soyoil futures rose due to weak monsoon rains that raised concerns about sowing operations
in key producing states Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Soybean futures are expected to trade higher as
delayed monsoon season could aid prices at the lower levels.
