SPECIAL NEWS
 Privately owned housing units authorized by building per-
mits in June were ata seasonally adjusted annual rate of
963,000. This is 4.2 percent below the revised May rate of
1,005,000, but is 2.7 percent above the June 2013 estimate
of 938,000.
 U.S. Department of Labor reported that advance figure for
seasonally adjusted initial Jobless claims was 302,000 for
the week ended July 12, a decrease of 3,000 from the previ-
ous weeks revised level. The previous week's level was re-
vised up by 1,000 from 304,000 to 305,000. The 4 week
moving average was 309,000, a decrease of 3,000 from the
previous week's revised average.
COMMODITY BUZZ
 Soaring gold imports from India are supporting the gold
prices. MCX Gold futures rose towards Rs 28000 per 10
gram levels today as the global prices rallied well above $
1300per ounce levels . However, the equities are witness-
ing some profit selling in Asia and that kept advances in
gold under check. COMEX Gold is quoting at $1304.50
per ounce, up$4.70 per ounce on the day. MCX Gold fu-
tures are trading at Rs 27805 per 10 grams, up Rs129 per
10 grams or half a percent on the day.
 The Copper prices declining below INR 430 is enthusing
day traders to sell the metal further and book the profits
that are lying on the table. The prices of Copper slipped
below Rs 433 and 430 levels last night and the trend is ex-
pected to pave way for selling in Copper that can extend
to Rs 425 per kg .
