morning show hosts, saying that they
appear half dressed on screens and
do not cover their full body.
When Humaima Malick was asked
about Turkish dramas being broadcast
in Pakistan, she replied:“I dont know
that why people are making hue and
cry over Turkish dramas.They are
same like Pakistani dramas and those
who are objecting on the dresses in
these dramas they should see what
is worn by Pakistani morning show
hosts.
Humaima Malick was also asked
about her wedding plans for which
she said that her first marriage was
not successful and now whenever she
will get married she will invite media
persons and will make that event a big
one. Currently, Humaima Malick is

Pakistan’s most sensuous actress
Meera might essay the role of Meena
Kumariji in remake of Pakeezah in
Bollywood.Film Pakeezah was made
in 1972 by director Kamal Amrohi
and now his son Tajdar Amrohi has
decided to produce the remake by
considering Meera in lead role.When
Meera was asked about her role, she
told, “It is a divine feeling. I cannot
define it in words”.
Tajdar Amrohi told that the movie is
still in conception stage and “Meera
had spoken to me about Pakeezah
about three-and-half years ago. She
is very passionate about doing it. She
is like a little child with a dream, so I
gave her the nod. It is not an easy film
to make.
It is a challenge for Meera.To re-erect
the same sets, it would cost 20 times
more.The kind of costumes, dialogue,
the aura, there are several uphill
tasks. It will be a huge thing.”

Hun Shahid Afridi’.

The set for the item song which is not

is designed by Saqib Malik, who is the
director of the item song.

of the film is complete and for the

place in Karachi.”
Pakistani film “Main Hun Shahid Af-
ridi” revolves around the life of cricket
super star Shahid Afridi and the cast
includes Humayun Saeed, Mahnoor

Farhana Maqsood, Shafqat Cheema

kistani television and from this point her acceptance as an
accomplished performer got recognized.The first telefilm
she opted for was, “Gurmuch Singh Ki Waseeyat”.Telefilm
was directed and produced by Sharjil Baloch and Khalid
Ahmad and was shown on Geo network.The project was
based on a novel of Saadat Hussain Manto.
Her first show and telefilm was very much appreciated by
all the viewers and critics all over Pakistan. Storyline of tel-
efilm was very strong and attractive and complemented by
the stunning acting of Aamina Sheikh – winning accolodes
from viewers and catching the attention of drama addicts.
This was the first huge achievement of Aamina Sheikh
which motivated her and she planned to do more.
After doing a talk show and a telefilm in 2007, Aamina
Sheikh did a sequence of telefilms in 2008 which are
Aasmaan chu lay, Baarish main deewar and Pachees
qadam pe maut. In all of these telefilms Aamina Sheikh
was outstanding.
In telefilm “Aasmaan Chu Lay” Aamina Sheikh played a
very tough and challenging role. She was portrayed as a
sole earner of a family who drives an auto rickshaw on the
hustled streets of Karachi city. She really got entrenched
in the role and what followed was loads of appreciation
resulting in more roles,the major one being the serial
“Wilco”. This drama project the joint venture of ISPR and
7th Sky entertainment. Aamina Sheikh played the role of
typical woman of Thar Desert.
Some of the other telefilms she did were Waapsi, Bibi jee,
Aik Jese Khawab,Yeh Bakra Nahin Chalay Ga, Mere Mian
Bolay Maen and Bhag Amna Bhag among several others.
In all of her projects Aamina applied her talents whole-
heartedly and apparent was the excellence in all her roles.
Modeling career of Aamina Sheikh started in 2008 and
she made her first modeling debut by walking on the ramp
for very famous designer Rehana Saigol. She did very well
as a model and other famous designers,reached out to
her for being a part of their brands.
Aamina Sheikh then worked with Maria B, Deepak Per-
wani, Nomi Ansari, Amir Adnan, Niche lifestyle , Khaadi,
The Men’s store, Teejays, Hang Ten, Maheen Khan,

awards namely “Best model- Female” in Lux Style Awards
and “Face of the year award” from Sunday Daily Times. In
2011 she was awarded as “Best actor female (satellite)” in
Lux Style Awards.
In 2010 Aamina Sheikh started
working for commercial Pakistani
dramas. She did her first drama
named “Ishq Gumshuda” a dra-
ma by Haissam Hussain; and
second drama “Daam” a drama
by Mehreen Jabbar.
Other drama projects that she worked on include Main

with Khabarovsk, Russia as
her birth place.When she was
seven,the family moved to Australia
and the childhood was spent there
,and even as a teenager she had
got used to comments about her

that is what she did,with first step
being movement to Melbourne.

passed up so many opportunities where I could have
done a film. So this big thing just came up, and I ended
up getting to do this. I’m happier that I got off the soap
though. I mean I give all my credit to them, because I have
learned so much from being on soap operas and working
with amazing actors who’ve been on there for like thirty,
forty years. It was an honor to work with them. It’s definitely
given me all my background. But getting off the soap opera
helped me a lot too, because I can move on to bigger and
better things. So I am definitely thankful I got to be on a
soap opera though, but yeah
