Introduction to TeX and LaTeX
TeX
 computer program for typesetting documents,created
  by D. E. Knuth.
 takes a suitably prepared computer file and converts it
  to a form that may be printed.
LaTeX
  written by L. B. Lamport, is one of a number of
  `dialects' of TeX.
 particularly suited to the production of long articles
  and books
How to create a LaTeX document
On Linux : Kile application
How to create a LaTeX document
On Windows-
  MikTeX
     The latex distribution for windows.
     Responsible to transform an input to an output

  TeX Maker
     Editor
     Comfortable for mouse oriented users

     Good for learning LaTeX

Other editors are also available depending on the OS
 and user preference.
Installing LaTeX on windows
Step 1
  Download and install MikTeX.
  Around 1.2GB space is required.


Step 2 download and install TeXmaker
This will take some time....
Next install TeX maker.
Configuring TeX Maker
           Click on the Commands icon


PDF Viewer > browse and give the location of Adobe
 reader application
             Click on the QuickBuild icon



Select pdflatex+view PDF
Your first LaTeX document
Wizard>QuickStart>Report
Type anything between begin{document} and
 end{document}
Save your file as filename.tex
Click Quickbuild(builds the pdf and displays it in
 adobe reader)
Remember – always close the built PDF in order to
 build it again
Try to do these activities.
begin{document}
end{document}
%this is a comment
title{This is the Title}
author{This is the author}
date{today}
maketitle
Try to do these.
begin{abstract}
your abstract goes here
end{abstract}
