Diet
The Tasmanian devil is a carnivore that means that they only eat meat. The
animals that the Tasmanian devil will normally kill are a possum, lizards, frogs,
chicken, and they will also eat baby lambs to. These animals are not the only
animals that are prey to the Tasmanian devil the other animals that are food to
these creatures are snakes, birds, and they will also eat insects to. The most
common food source that a Tasmanian devil will eat is usually dead animals or
other animals that have been lifted behind. (These animals are called scavengers
and carrion eaters). These are the foods that these animals will normally eat more
often than they hunt for food. But first they will have to look for food then the
types of animals that they will normally hunt are really small mammals, birds, fish,
frogs and they will also eat different types of reptiles to. But they will only eat the
different types of food that will be available for them to eat. The small mammals
that they will eat are wallabies, insects and they will also eat their young and the
name of anbaby insect is called an larvae. The Tasmanian devil’s favorite food is
the wombat. These animals will normally eat every single thing that it finds. When
they are eating the carrion they will also eat the fur of the mammal that it
catches. These animals do not just scavenge they will also kill their prey to and the
different types of animals that they will kill are wallabies, kangaroos, pademelons,
wombats, lizards, snakes, frogs, birds, crayfish and they will also eggs to. The
Tasmanian devil will eat any dead animal that it can possibly find in aforest and it
does not care if the carcass is old or even bad. These animals are just like hyenas.
When they are eating an animal than they will eat every single body part of the
animal that will also include the bones, the shin and they will also eat the skull to.
The animals that they normally see as prey is snakes, birds, rodents, lizards, small
wallabies and baby lambs. Some people think that they can eat the whole carcass.
These animals will even eat the bones and even the fur of the animal to. These
animals will normally eat 15% of their body weight every single day but there are
sometimes that they can eat about 40% of their body weigh in only for 30 minutes
but only if they need to. These animals are known to be really rowdy and
communal when they are eating another animal can hear a Tasmanian devil
feeding over seven kilometers away from where the Tasmanian devil is located it
at.

             Habitat/Range
The Tasmanian Devil can only be found on the island state that is called Tasmania
which can only be found on the continent of Australia. The type of places where
The Tasmanian devil likes to be in the dry eucalyptus forests and they can also be
found on brushes that can be located in Tasmania. These types of animals can be
found on so many different types of habitats that are in the Tasmania that is
located in Australia. The other type of places where these animals like to live is in
forests, woodlands and they can also be found in the Agricultural areas to ( but
the places where they are really going to be found is in the coastal scrub) and The
other places where they can be found is in the eucalyptus forests to. The
Tasmanian devil use to live on all over the continent of Australia but they do not
live like that anymore right now they can only be found in an island that is called
Tasmania and this place has scrublands and forests areas to. The Tasmanian devil
can be found on so many different types of habitats that also mean that they live
on the suburban fringes to. In 5000 years ago these types of animals used to live
on the mainland of Australia the Tasmanian devil is known to be a really shy
animal and they are mostly active at night it is really hard to these animals out in
the wild because they are nocturnal. The other type of habitats that these animals
like to live is in rainforests, eucalyptus forests, farmlands and they can even live
near outer city suburbs to. In these animal’s habitats there are a lot of different
types of grass, trees and that has a lot of broken branches there are so many that
can be found in their habitat to. The Tasmanian devil lives on so many different
types of habitats on the country of Tasmania and the types of habitats are
outskirts that is in urban areas and the other habitats that they live on is dry
forests and they can also live on coastal woodlands to.
Size/Weight
The length of a Tasmanian devil is about 23 to 26 inches (57 to 65 centimeters)
the length of their tail is about 10 inches (26 centimeters). They can weigh about
13 to 18 pounds (6 to 8 kilograms). The Tasmanian devil can stand about 2 to 4
feet tall that will also mean the tail to. The other length for the Tasmanian devil is
22 to 32 inches they can also weigh about 26 pounds. The tail is half the size of
their body is. The body size of the Tasmanian devil is about 20 to 31 inches (51
and 79 centimeters) long. These animals can also grow about 20 to 30 inches (51
to 78cm long) and they can weigh about 13 to 22 pounds (6 to 10 kgs). Their very
hairy tail can grow about 10 inches (25 cm) long. They also have a body length
that can be bigger than 52 to 80 cms (20.5-32) inches. The length of the tail is 23
to 30 cms (9-12 inches) and the Tasmanian devil can also weigh about 4 to 12 kgs
(8.75-26 lbs.). Their tail can be bigger than 24 to 26 cm long. The males are a lot
bigger than the females are. Their average weigh can be bigger than 8 kg. The
average size of their head and their body length is about 570 mm. The length of
their tail can be bigger than 244 mm. The normal weight of a Tasmanian devil is
really 6 kg. The size of an Tasmanian devil can grow about 20 to 31 in (51 to 79
cm). These animals can weigh about 9 to 26lbs (4 to 12 kgs). The body length of
an males head and body are bigger than 652mm. The females are known to be a
lot smaller than the males are. The females can length about 570mm. The males
can weigh about 12kg and the females can weigh about 10kg.

                       Life span
These animals can live about 7 to 8 years. There are some people that say that the
Tasmanian devil can live more than five or even six years but only if they are
healthy enough then they can live even longer that can be more than seven or
even more eight years. When the Tasmanian devil is in the wild then that can live
up about 6 years. When they are in the wild they can also live about 5 years to.
1 interesting fact
The Tasmanian devil only has two ways on how they protect themselves from
predators the first defense that they do to protect themselves is that they will
use their very strong jaw muscles. The other defense that they will use to protect
themselves is that they will use their long sharp teeth to protect themselves. The
time the Tasmanian devil is very active at night and they will also spend a lot of
their time being alone in a hollow long, caves and they will also spent their time
in burrows to this where they will normally sleep during the day. When these
animals are in the wild than they will normally sleep at day time this means that
these animals are nocturnal. These animals will normally sleep in dens that they
make out of hollow logs, caves and in a very old wombat burrow. The other
materials that they will use are grass and leaves to. The Tasmanian devil does not
live in a group and they are mostly active at night they will spend a lot of their
time by themselves in a hollow log, in caves and they can also be found in
burrows when night comes that will be the time when they usually go out to look
for food. These animals have whiskers on them that are known to be really long
and they also have totally amazing sense of smell and they can also see really well
to. They use these sense to watch out from predators and it also comes in handy
for them to find out where their next meal is going to be and it also helps them to
find any dead animals that can be found on their habitat. These animals are also
known to have totally amazing senses which happens to be vision, hearing, smell,
touch and they also have amazing taste buds to.

             2 interesting Fact
They will usually store their fat into their tail even through for an animal that is
totally unhealthy because all animals that have tails are supposed to have a thin
tail. They have whiskers on them that can help them to find out where their next
meal is coming from. But the time they will mostly use them is when it gets to
hard to see in the dark. It is another way to know if there is another Tasmanian
devil in the area to. When the Tasmanian devil is threatened then it will start to
growl and they will also do a really powerful bite that can be harm lots of
different type’sanimals. When they become really excited then they will start to
produce pungent odor thathave really strong smell then their rival which is the
skunk. When these animals gets really stressed out than they will usually release a
really bad nasty odor. The Tasmanian devil can open their mouth really big this
shows that the animal is really scared or they are not sure about something. They
will also use their mouths to fight other devils to. When they are fighting with
each other then they will use their very sharp sneeze to fight with it. These
animals store a lot of fat into their tails even through this is totally not healthy for
an animal that has a tail their tails are supposed to be a limp and a they are also
supposed to be thin. The Tasmanian devil will release a four odor but they will
only take it out if they are really stressed out. They do not release it when they
are clam and when they are really relaxed. These animals do not sneeze because
they are catching a animal but they may sneeze because they are about to start a
fright with another Tasmanian devil. But this only happens to be one of their
amazing bluff behaviors they will usually use these behaviors in a fright that might
lead to really terrible injuries. Right after they have their confrontation then their
ears will activity turn flush red right after they are down fighting with each other.
There is usually one or the same animal that will actively tell the other Tasmanian
devil to back off. Their ears will actively turn red when they are totally stress out
or if they are excited about something that is because their ears will start to flush
out blood. These ears do not have any hair on them so these ears activity have
very big ears that is because they have really thin skin this will also mean lots of
blood and lots of reddish that will be coming out of the animals ears.

             3 interesting fact
The Tasmanian devil has so many different types of predators that they face and
those animals are eagles and owls. The eagles will normally prey on the
Tasmanian devil for their survival so that they can live. The owls will normally prey
on these animals for food. The Tasmanian devil will use different types of sounds
that can help them to commutate with each other and those sounds that they use
are shorts, snarls and they can also make a shrieking noise to. This is activity how
they got their name. The other predator that they will face is this type of animal
that is called the spotted tail quolls. The Tasmanian devil is a really fast animal it
can run even faster than a person. There has been lots of devils that have been
timed on how fast that they can run and these animals can run on a flat road and
they can run about 25km per hour that can be up to 1 km but they can only run
this fast when they are running on a flat road. There are some people that are
saying that they can run about 10 km per hour in so many kilometers. The
Tasmanian devil are not dangerous to people and they will never attach a person
but the only time that they will attack a person is when they are being trapped.
These animals are knownto be not aggressive creatures but they rather escape
from a fight than to face the fight. These animals are known to have a really
powerful jaw they have a really powerful bite that can cause a lot of damage to a
person’s body. Right before the thylacines became extinct these were the only
animals that will usually kill the Tasmanian devil for food but it is not around
anymore but there are other animals that will normally kill these animals for food
and those animals are usually the really large birds of prey like eagles and they
will not just attack adult Tasmanian devils but they will also attack baby ones to.
The other birds of prey that will attack them aredifferent type’s owls and the type
of owls that will normally attack them will be the masked owl and the really large
quolls and the type of quoll that will go after these creatures is to the spotted tail
quoll. These birds will even attack the really young devils. The Tasmanian devil is
known to have the biggest bite than any other animal on the planet. The adults
will even try to eat the young ones but they will only do that when they are really
hungry then they will usually go after the ones that are known to be very small.
These animals can also swim very well to but when they are very young they will
normally stay away from the water and then they start to move in very small
distances. The Tasmanian devil loves the water and when they are in it then they
will normally wade and they will also splash around in the water to and when it is
really hot outside they will normally sit and lay down in the water so that they can
cool themselves down. When the Tasmanian devil is really mad or when they are
really excited about something than when that happens then their ears will start
to turn red but they will usually turn bright red. It can easily stink really bad this
can even smell really bad than a skunks smell. The Tasmanian devil does not live
in a pack like a dog does but there are sometimes When devils can be found in
same place and at the same time and there are sometimes when they will also
hunt the same animal to but this does not mean that these devils are activity
helping each other hunt the same animals the devil only hunts for itself. A very
young Tasmanian devil is an amazing climber to but these animals are known to
be really persistent when it comes to climbing. These animals will have a very
good gripping skill that they get by using their front paws. These animals do not
have retractable claws like a cat does but they will use their very long footpads
that is located on their hind legs this can help them to get really good grips and
friction pads.

                       Responding
The Tasmanian devil will start to mate during the Month of March and after they
are done with the gestation period which is in 21 days. Than a female will
normally have 2 or 3 babies and they will start to be born in month of April. Just
like any other marsupial they will normally have their babies in a pouch which will
be opened this is where they will stay and they will also attached to a teat that
can only least in 4 months after this time is over then that will be the time when
they will start to explore the outside world that is outside of the pouch and that
means that these animals can move around in the den. These babies will drink
their mother’s milk until they are about 5 or 6 months old and when that time
comes than they will get to be on their own when they are 8 months old. Then
they will be a mature Tasmanian devil when they reach about 2 years old. A
female Tasmanian devil will be pregnant in only for 3 or 4 weeks. Their litter size
is may vary. A female Tasmanian devil will normally give birth in 21 days and they
will usually have their babies during April. A female will normally have more than
4 babies that will be born during the month of April, but not all 4 babies will make
it to adulthood that is because the mother does not have a enough teats to feed
them and there will only be 2 or 3 babies will normally become adults. Right after
the 4 months or up and then that will be the time when they will start to leave
the pouch and they are ready to leave their mother and they will also start to live
on their own in a few months. Every single year in the month of April that will be
the time when they will start to give birth to two or four little baby Tasmanian
devils will be born during that month. Just all the other marsupials when then
they are first born they are not really grown up until like in a month that they are
born. These animals mushed spent the first eight or to nine months inside the
mother’s pouch. There are a lot of Tasmanian devils that will mostly mate in the
months of March to May this is when the mating season is for these animals will
start to begin. The Gestation period for a female Devil is about 21 weeks. After
those weeks are up than they will start to have four babies. (The Tasmanian devil
baby is called a joey). These four joeys will continue to grow inside the mothers
pouch in about 2 or 4 weeks. The joeys will start to leave the pouch when they are
about six months old and that will also be the time when they will start to be on
their own to. The joeys will not be able to have babies of their own until they are
two years old than they will start to have their own babies. A female Tasmanian
devil will normally give birth to only 3 or 4 of very small joeys they can be very
blind when they are in the pouch and they will have to stay in there until in 4
months. The pouch that they usually stay inthey will normally stay in the back
part of the pouch when they are looking at the pouch. The reason why the pouch
will normally look backwards is because so that they can keep the dirt away from
the mothers nesting area. The gestation period for these animals is 31 days. The
size of an baby Tasmanian devil the moment that they are born is that they can
have the same size as an grain of rice and that can be very small. These animals
will be ready to reach maturity in about 2 years. A female Tasmanian devil will
normally have two babies but they will have to be born after in just one time.
Right after the babies come out of the mothers pouch than they will have to stay
in the den for only in a few months and right before they go on their own. The
first thing that they need to do is they will have to learn on how to take care of
themselves first before they go out on their own. Females will be pregnant about
for 21 days. A female will normally give birth to 20 or 40 babies and that is the
total litter of devil babies. These babies have the same size as an grain of rice. But
there is an very big problem she only has 4 teats that are located in the pouch.
There can only be just4 babies that will activity make it to adulthood so the life of
an Tasmanian devil baby can be very hard for this animal. So it is a very big race to
the teats and there are not a lot of babies that will survive in the first year of their
lives. The mother will normally carry her baby in a pouch. A name for a baby
Tasmanian devil is called an imp and it is also called a joey to. The baby will stay in
the mother’s pouch only in 4 months. By the time that they are old enough then
that will be the time when they leave the pouch and then that will be the time
when the mother will start to leave the den and so that she can explore the
outside world again and get some flash air. The mother takes a lot of loving care
to her baby. The mother will only come back to the den to feed her babies milk
and to teach them how to get their own food. The joeys will continue to drink
their mother’s milk until the babies are about 10 months old. The Tasmanian devil
will start to reach maturity when they are two years old.

               Survival Status
In the late eighteenth century there were settlers that came from Europe and that
came to the island of Tasmania. During those times the Tasmanian devil and the
Tasmanian tiger were known to be very annoying and they are also known to be
pests the reason why because they will usually kill the sheep and they will also eat
the animals that haven catch in traps to and that also been covered with wires or
with an electric cord to. In the year of 1830’s that was the time when bounties
were being placed on these animals until they are getting closer to extinction
which was due by that century. The Tasmanian tiger is not around anymore this
animal became extinct in the year of 1936. The Tasmanian devil is being protected
by law and they have been protected since the year of 1941. This has made their
population have a chance to grow even stronger than it was before the
Tasmanian devil almost became extinct which was in the last 20th century that is
because they were getting hunted a lot during those times were very bad for the
Tasmanian devil. The ones that did become extinct is the Tasmanian wolf and it is
also called the tiger to. These animals became extinct in the year of 1936. Today
the devil is totally endangered because of a cancer that is called the Devil Facial
Tumor Disease. In the late 1990’s there has been a very bad facial mutation
disease this has been causing a lot of trouble for the Tasmanian devil’s population
status because it is shrinking so badly now. This means that these animals are
totally endangered. This disease is the type of cancer and that will normally end
up in a fatality canusually last about a year. These animals may be fierce creatures
but that does not mean that we should not save them. There are a lot of
Tasmanian devils that are getting killed by a car and then they will start to
become road-kill for other animals that enjoy eating road kill animals to. The
Tasmanian devil used to live on the mainland but they don’t anymore because of
the competition for food. These animals are also in trouble because of a very
terrible cancer that is called the Devil Facial Tumor Disease (DFTD). This is causing
a lot of facial tumors and it is also causing a lot of deaths for the Tasmanian devil
to. This disease is not known to spread directly from an animal but this only
happens if they bite another animal when they are fighting. There hasn’t been a
cure for this disease yet. This disease is causing a tumor on the Tasmanian devils
face and after that than they will start to die in a few months. This disease is also
going on in their mouth to so this can make it very hard for these animals to eat
anything. The Government that is in Australia has put these animals on the
species that are known to be vulnerable the reason why because of this disease
that is going on their face and on their mouth to. Thousands of years ago the
Tasmanian devil used to live all over the mainland of Australia but there are some
scientists that believe that they became extinct because an Asian dog that is
called the dingo that has been brought to the continent. In the year of 1941 that
was when government has made these animals is on the protected species list.
That that was when their numbers have been growing a lot on the island of
Tasmania which is known to be the beloved symbol of that island. In the 1990’s
there was an very terrible disease that has been killing thousands of Tasmanian
devil and this disease is called the devil tumor disease it is also called the (DFTD)
this is a very deadly disease but it can also be very rare and it is a very contagious
cancer that can cause a lot of lumps that will normally happen around the their
mouth and they can also have it on their head to. This makes these animals very
hard to eat food. Scientists are working very hard on how to stop this very
dangerous cancer from spreading all over the Tasmanian devil’s population
before all of the species disappears forever.

    Message from author
We must do something to help and to save these amazing animals. These
marsupials need all the help that they can get. The Tasmanian devil has the right
to continue living on this planet. They are doing their part in nature and we
should find a place in nature to. This is a really big planet that is filled with
wonders and discoveries that is just waiting to be found. We have to make this
planet a safe place for us and for the other creatures that we share it with. This is
our beautiful home it deserves to have a second change to live on for the next
generation to come. There is a really big, bright and beautiful future if we find a
way to protect our planet. That our world and our home will be a much happier
and a much cleaner place to live on. We have to make room for other living
creatures to. God made animals for a reason just like he made us. That is what I
know about the Tasmanian devil. If we all work together we can save the
Tasmanian devil and the other animals that live on this planet to. Together we can
make a difference in our beautiful planet that we all share.

  • 2. communal when they are eating another animal can hear a Tasmanian devil feeding over seven kilometers away from where the Tasmanian devil is located it at. Habitat/Range The Tasmanian Devil can only be found on the island state that is called Tasmania which can only be found on the continent of Australia. The type of places where The Tasmanian devil likes to be in the dry eucalyptus forests and they can also be found on brushes that can be located in Tasmania. These types of animals can be found on so many different types of habitats that are in the Tasmania that is located in Australia. The other type of places where these animals like to live is in forests, woodlands and they can also be found in the Agricultural areas to ( but the places where they are really going to be found is in the coastal scrub) and The other places where they can be found is in the eucalyptus forests to. The Tasmanian devil use to live on all over the continent of Australia but they do not live like that anymore right now they can only be found in an island that is called Tasmania and this place has scrublands and forests areas to. The Tasmanian devil can be found on so many different types of habitats that also mean that they live on the suburban fringes to. In 5000 years ago these types of animals used to live on the mainland of Australia the Tasmanian devil is known to be a really shy animal and they are mostly active at night it is really hard to these animals out in the wild because they are nocturnal. The other type of habitats that these animals like to live is in rainforests, eucalyptus forests, farmlands and they can even live near outer city suburbs to. In these animal’s habitats there are a lot of different types of grass, trees and that has a lot of broken branches there are so many that can be found in their habitat to. The Tasmanian devil lives on so many different types of habitats on the country of Tasmania and the types of habitats are outskirts that is in urban areas and the other habitats that they live on is dry forests and they can also live on coastal woodlands to.
  • 3. Size/Weight The length of a Tasmanian devil is about 23 to 26 inches (57 to 65 centimeters) the length of their tail is about 10 inches (26 centimeters). They can weigh about 13 to 18 pounds (6 to 8 kilograms). The Tasmanian devil can stand about 2 to 4 feet tall that will also mean the tail to. The other length for the Tasmanian devil is 22 to 32 inches they can also weigh about 26 pounds. The tail is half the size of their body is. The body size of the Tasmanian devil is about 20 to 31 inches (51 and 79 centimeters) long. These animals can also grow about 20 to 30 inches (51 to 78cm long) and they can weigh about 13 to 22 pounds (6 to 10 kgs). Their very hairy tail can grow about 10 inches (25 cm) long. They also have a body length that can be bigger than 52 to 80 cms (20.5-32) inches. The length of the tail is 23 to 30 cms (9-12 inches) and the Tasmanian devil can also weigh about 4 to 12 kgs (8.75-26 lbs.). Their tail can be bigger than 24 to 26 cm long. The males are a lot bigger than the females are. Their average weigh can be bigger than 8 kg. The average size of their head and their body length is about 570 mm. The length of their tail can be bigger than 244 mm. The normal weight of a Tasmanian devil is really 6 kg. The size of an Tasmanian devil can grow about 20 to 31 in (51 to 79 cm). There are some people that say that the Tasmanian devil can live more than five or even six years but only if they are healthy enough then they can live even longer that can be more than seven or even more eight years. When the Tasmanian devil is in the wild then that can live up about 6 years. When they are in the wild they can also live about 5 years to.
  • 4. 1 interesting fact The Tasmanian devil only has two ways on how they protect themselves from predators the first defense that they do to protect themselves is that they will use their very strong jaw muscles. The other defense that they will use to protect themselves is that they will use their long sharp teeth to protect themselves. The time the Tasmanian devil is very active at night and they will also spend a lot of their time being alone in a hollow long, caves and they will also spent their time in burrows to this where they will normally sleep during the day. When these animals are in the wild than they will normally sleep at day time this means that these animals are nocturnal. These animals will normally sleep in dens that they make out of hollow logs, caves and in a very old wombat burrow. The other materials that they will use are grass and leaves to. The Tasmanian devil does not live in a group and they are mostly active at night they will spend a lot of their time by themselves in a hollow log, in caves and they can also be found in burrows when night comes that will be the time when they usually go out to look for food. These animals have whiskers on them that are known to be really long and they also have totally amazing sense of smell and they can also see really well to. They use these sense to watch out from predators and it also comes in handy for them to find out where their next meal is going to be and it also helps them to find any dead animals that can be found on their habitat. These animals are also known to have totally amazing senses which happens to be vision, hearing, smell, touch and they also have amazing taste buds to. 2 interesting Fact They will usually store their fat into their tail even through for an animal that is totally unhealthy because all animals that have tails are supposed to have a thin tail. They have whiskers on them that can help them to find out where their next meal is coming from. But the time they will mostly use them is when it gets to hard to see in the dark. It is another way to know if there is another Tasmanian
  • 5. devil in the area to. When the Tasmanian devil is threatened then it will start to growl and they will also do a really powerful bite that can be harm lots of different type’sanimals. When they become really excited then they will start to produce pungent odor thathave really strong smell then their rival which is the skunk. When these animals gets really stressed out than they will usually release a really bad nasty odor. The Tasmanian devil can open their mouth really big this shows that the animal is really scared or they are not sure about something. They will also use their mouths to fight other devils to. When they are fighting with each other then they will use their very sharp sneeze to fight with it. These animals store a lot of fat into their tails even through this is totally not healthy for an animal that has a tail their tails are supposed to be a limp and a they are also supposed to be thin. The Tasmanian devil will release a four odor but they will only take it out if they are really stressed out. They do not release it when they are clam and when they are really relaxed. These animals do not sneeze because they are catching a animal but they may sneeze because they are about to start a fright with another Tasmanian devil. But this only happens to be one of their amazing bluff behaviors they will usually use these behaviors in a fright that might lead to really terrible injuries. Right after they have their confrontation then their ears will activity turn flush red right after they are down fighting with each other. There is usually one or the same animal that will actively tell the other Tasmanian devil to back off. Their ears will actively turn red when they are totally stress out or if they are excited about something that is because their ears will start to flush out blood. These ears do not have any hair on them so these ears activity have very big ears that is because they have really thin skin this will also mean lots of blood and lots of reddish that will be coming out of the animals ears. 3 interesting fact The Tasmanian devil has so many different types of predators that they face and those animals are eagles and owls. The eagles will normally prey on the Tasmanian devil for their survival so that they can live. The owls will normally prey on these animals for food. The Tasmanian devil will use different types of sounds
  • 6. that can help them to commutate with each other and those sounds that they use are shorts, snarls and they can also make a shrieking noise to. This is activity how they got their name. The other predator that they will face is this type of animal that is called the spotted tail quolls. The Tasmanian devil is a really fast animal it can run even faster than a person. There has been lots of devils that have been timed on how fast that they can run and these animals can run on a flat road and they can run about 25km per hour that can be up to 1 km but they can only run this fast when they are running on a flat road. There are some people that are saying that they can run about 10 km per hour in so many kilometers. The Tasmanian devil are not dangerous to people and they will never attach a person but the only time that they will attack a person is when they are being trapped. These animals are knownto be not aggressive creatures but they rather escape from a fight than to face the fight. These animals are known to have a really powerful jaw they have a really powerful bite that can cause a lot of damage to a person’s body. Right before the thylacines became extinct these were the only animals that will usually kill the Tasmanian devil for food but it is not around anymore but there are other animals that will normally kill these animals for food and those animals are usually the really large birds of prey like eagles and they will not just attack adult Tasmanian devils but they will also attack baby ones to. The other birds of prey that will attack them aredifferent type’s owls and the type of owls that will normally attack them will be the masked owl and the really large quolls and the type of quoll that will go after these creatures is to the spotted tail quoll. These birds will even attack the really young devils. The Tasmanian devil is known to have the biggest bite than any other animal on the planet. The adults will even try to eat the young ones but they will only do that when they are really hungry then they will usually go after the ones that are known to be very small. These animals can also swim very well to but when they are very young they will normally stay away from the water and then they start to move in very small distances. The Tasmanian devil loves the water and when they are in it then they will normally wade and they will also splash around in the water to and when it is really hot outside they will normally sit and lay down in the water so that they can cool themselves down. When the Tasmanian devil is really mad or when they are really excited about something than when that happens then their ears will start
  • 7. to turn red but they will usually turn bright red. It can easily stink really bad this can even smell really bad than a skunks smell. The Tasmanian devil does not live in a pack like a dog does but there are sometimes When devils can be found in same place and at the same time and there are sometimes when they will also hunt the same animal to but this does not mean that these devils are activity helping each other hunt the same animals the devil only hunts for itself. A very young Tasmanian devil is an amazing climber to but these animals are known to be really persistent when it comes to climbing. These animals will have a very good gripping skill that they get by using their front paws. These animals do not have retractable claws like a cat does but they will use their very long footpads that is located on their hind legs this can help them to get really good grips and friction pads. Responding The Tasmanian devil will start to mate during the Month of March and after they are done with the gestation period which is in 21 days. Than a female will normally have 2 or 3 babies and they will start to be born in month of April. Just like any other marsupial they will normally have their babies in a pouch which will be opened this is where they will stay and they will also attached to a teat that can only least in 4 months after this time is over then that will be the time when they will start to explore the outside world that is outside of the pouch and that means that these animals can move around in the den. These babies will drink their mother’s milk until they are about 5 or 6 months old and when that time comes than they will get to be on their own when they are 8 months old. Then they will be a mature Tasmanian devil when they reach about 2 years old. A female Tasmanian devil will be pregnant in only for 3 or 4 weeks. Their litter size is may vary. A female Tasmanian devil will normally give birth in 21 days and they will usually have their babies during April. A female will normally have more than 4 babies that will be born during the month of April, but not all 4 babies will make
  • 8. it to adulthood that is because the mother does not have a enough teats to feed them and there will only be 2 or 3 babies will normally become adults. Right after the 4 months or up and then that will be the time when they will start to leave the pouch and they are ready to leave their mother and they will also start to live on their own in a few months. Every single year in the month of April that will be the time when they will start to give birth to two or four little baby Tasmanian devils will be born during that month. Just all the other marsupials when then they are first born they are not really grown up until like in a month that they are born. These animals mushed spent the first eight or to nine months inside the mother’s pouch. There are a lot of Tasmanian devils that will mostly mate in the months of March to May this is when the mating season is for these animals will start to begin. The Gestation period for a female Devil is about 21 weeks. After those weeks are up than they will start to have four babies. (The Tasmanian devil baby is called a joey). These four joeys will continue to grow inside the mothers pouch in about 2 or 4 weeks. The joeys will start to leave the pouch when they are about six months old and that will also be the time when they will start to be on their own to. The joeys will not be able to have babies of their own until they are two years old than they will start to have their own babies. A female Tasmanian devil will normally give birth to only 3 or 4 of very small joeys they can be very blind when they are in the pouch and they will have to stay in there until in 4 months. The pouch that they usually stay inthey will normally stay in the back part of the pouch when they are looking at the pouch. The reason why the pouch will normally look backwards is because so that they can keep the dirt away from the mothers nesting area. The gestation period for these animals is 31 days. The size of an baby Tasmanian devil the moment that they are born is that they can have the same size as an grain of rice and that can be very small. These animals will be ready to reach maturity in about 2 years. A female Tasmanian devil will normally have two babies but they will have to be born after in just one time. Right after the babies come out of the mothers pouch than they will have to stay in the den for only in a few months and right before they go on their own. The first thing that they need to do is they will have to learn on how to take care of themselves first before they go out on their own. Females will be pregnant about for 21 days. A female will normally give birth to 20 or 40 babies and that is the
  • 9. total litter of devil babies. These babies have the same size as an grain of rice. But there is an very big problem she only has 4 teats that are located in the pouch. There can only be just4 babies that will activity make it to adulthood so the life of an Tasmanian devil baby can be very hard for this animal. So it is a very big race to the teats and there are not a lot of babies that will survive in the first year of their lives. The mother will normally carry her baby in a pouch. A name for a baby Tasmanian devil is called an imp and it is also called a joey to. The baby will stay in the mother’s pouch only in 4 months. By the time that they are old enough then that will be the time when they leave the pouch and then that will be the time when the mother will start to leave the den and so that she can explore the outside world again and get some flash air. The mother takes a lot of loving care to her baby. The mother will only come back to the den to feed her babies milk and to teach them how to get their own food. The joeys will continue to drink their mother’s milk until the babies are about 10 months old. The Tasmanian devil will start to reach maturity when they are two years old. Survival Status In the late eighteenth century there were settlers that came from Europe and that came to the island of Tasmania. During those times the Tasmanian devil and the Tasmanian tiger were known to be very annoying and they are also known to be pests the reason why because they will usually kill the sheep and they will also eat the animals that haven catch in traps to and that also been covered with wires or with an electric cord to. In the year of 1830’s that was the time when bounties were being placed on these animals until they are getting closer to extinction which was due by that century. The Tasmanian tiger is not around anymore this animal became extinct in the year of 1936. The Tasmanian devil is being protected by law and they have been protected since the year of 1941. This has made their population have a chance to grow even stronger than it was before the Tasmanian devil almost became extinct which was in the last 20th century that is
  • 10. because they were getting hunted a lot during those times were very bad for the Tasmanian devil. The ones that did become extinct is the Tasmanian wolf and it is also called the tiger to. These animals became extinct in the year of 1936. Today the devil is totally endangered because of a cancer that is called the Devil Facial Tumor Disease. In the late 1990’s there has been a very bad facial mutation disease this has been causing a lot of trouble for the Tasmanian devil’s population status because it is shrinking so badly now. This means that these animals are totally endangered. This disease is the type of cancer and that will normally end up in a fatality canusually last about a year. These animals may be fierce creatures but that does not mean that we should not save them. There are a lot of Tasmanian devils that are getting killed by a car and then they will start to become road-kill for other animals that enjoy eating road kill animals to.
