EPMO Responsibilities The EPMO is responsible for investment project portfolio management to ensure tangible progress toward the company's strategic goals. The EPMO is also responsible for strategic execution through the development of program blueprints. The term "blueprint" is found in the OGC approach to program management and calls for the development of a fairly detailed and clear vision of the "to be" state. This is not a process map. Rather it is a readable document that focuses on what core capabilities will be created and how, and on what value they will bring. Additionally, the EPMO is responsible for reporting and tracking project investment portfolio progress and for the outcomes (benefits) of the projects. The EPMO is also responsible for the execution of a small number of enterprisewide programs. These are almost always a mixture of technology, business process and change management.
