Project LEAD Kensington
and Chelsea
Do you
need help
walking
your
dog?
If you have mobility difficulties or are
housebound and a resident, the Council
is offering a free dog walking service.
Through Project LEAD
(Linking Educational
Activities with Dogs)
young people who have
committed an offence
have the opportunity to
give something back to
their local community by
working with dogs and
gaining new skills.
How it works
A Council officer or police
supervisor can collect your dog
and you can meet the young
person who will be walking it. Your
dog will be taken out for an hour’s
exercise, play and socialising and
then brought back to you.
Young people will be supervised
at all times by officers with
experience of working with dogs,
as well as being handlers and
owners themselves.
Every dog has different needs and
the walks are designed for each
dog. To make sure your dog gets
the attention it needs, they will not
be walked as part of a group.
If you would like to find out more
about Project LEAD Kensington
and Chelsea and the free dog
walking service, contact:

Bowie
Bowie is seven years old and lives with
one of our PCSOs. Bowie is very young
at heart, loves to play, loves his toys and
teddies and he's been with his devoted
family since he was nine weeks old.
Bowie is very friendly, loves children and
has a super temperament.
Maggie
Maggie was rehomed by one of our
supervisors who volunteers for an animal
welfare charity. Maggie arrived with a
broken hip and was very thin. She is now
fully recovered and is doing so well that
she works as a therapy dog visiting a
local care home.
