1. Children’s Crisis Intervention Training Main Funder: None Target Population: School Based Police Officers and School Administrators (Vice Principals of Discipline) Intent of Intervention: Provide quality, intensive 40 hours children mental health crisis intervention training to school police and 3 day training to school administrators; 2/3 didactic, 1/3 experiential, student role-play volunteers Strengths and Successes : Follows successful adult model; Completely and successfully supported by local community partner agencies and school and local law enforcement, role-play student volunteers, national recognition + recent Bright Idea recognition; Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards & Education - Mental Health Peace Officer Family Involvement: Family/advocacy representatives participate in planning & training Cultural and Linguistic Competency : Training Sessions in cultural competency and linguistics, mental health stigma, disparities, diversity and poverty issues, trainers/presenters reflect community cultural diversity Room for Growth : Obtain funding, increase number trained, expand to offer to local law enforcement, funding, possibly district focused training, statewide initiative, formal data collection and evaluation * Have trained approximately 75 school officers and 25 school staff

3. Bexar CARES: Coordinated Access to Resources Equals Success Main Funder : Texas Integrated Funding Initiative– Match CHCS, Texas FFCMH, in-kind, space for meetings, volunteer time at meetings and activities Target Population: children and youth ages 3 through 17, who are or who at risk for multi-agency involvement and/or out of home placement Intent of Intervention: Increase awareness of SOC and WA process, utilize WrapAround process to reduce out of community services, community infrastructure building and process development; apply for SAMHSA Children’s Mental Health Initiative CA Strengths and Successes: offers space and office and staff support to the Texas FFCMH to establish Alamo Area FFCMH and Alamo Area Youth MOVE (Motivating others through our voice of experience), Training for internal and external staff and providers and families Family Involvement : goal of 50 % family/youth on council, AAFFCMH & AAYM Cultural and Linguistic Competency: mental health stigma, disparities, diversity and poverty issues are addressed in the community through presentations and awareness activities, participants reflect community diversity Room for growth: Match, further development of family involvement at all levels, improve collaboration in the community, developing more formal governance, WA fidelity, align for SAMHSA grant submission; partner with Transformation for increased training and CHM Awareness Day, stigma reduction, social marketing * Serving 9 children currently
