there should be a belt tensioner under there ( its a pulley that isnt hooked to motor or blade axle) it will have a spring putting pressure on it towards the belt. take a
wrench of correct size to the bolt holding that pulley on and turn it in the direction away from the belt.

Take them by your local John Deere dealer and see how much they would give you for them. Add about 25 to 30% and that will tell you about what it is worth.

Do John Deere riding mowers cost more at a John Deere dealer or at a retail store like Home Depot or Lowe’s?
And if it’s more at a John Deere dealer, why would I buy one there as opposed to one of the stores?

Home Depot has a cheaper line of tractors. Dealers handle different model numbers and are built to last. Go see a dealer and ask him to tell you the difference to a HD. I
bought a Deere in 1990 and with regular maintenance it is still going strong and looks like new. Last year I asked my dealer why I’d have to pay $4100.00 to him should I
want to replace mine vs $1700.00 for a similar model at HD. He explained the difference to me. I’m happy with my 1990 with no plans on replacing it. I don’t think I’d say
the same with a HD Deere.

When is the best time to buy a John Deere riding mower?
It’s not an emergency but I need to by a new riding mower. I’ve decided on a John Deere LA115 with muching plate and maybe a tow behind sprayer. Anyway, does anyone
know what time of year is best or if it even makes a difference when you buy one?

I have never seen one but I suggest you ask John Deere or a JD authorized dealer that sells parts and does repairs.

are john deere riding mowers worth the money?
I have two cub cadets… an International Harvester that is at 700+ hours and still works fine (usually) and a cheap MTD cub cadet bought about 7 years ago that surprisingly
lasted over 500 hours but now cuts like crap and is literally falling apart. I want to purchase a nice riding mower (not a z-turn) good for over 6 acres a week that will last for a
long time and will maintain its nice cutting ability for a while. I’m thinking the John Deere 304x will do great, but is it really what its worked up to be? Or is there a cheaper
option that is equally as well-built?
