An allegation in the context of fostering refers to an accusation brought to a third party regarding an alleged incident involving the foster parent. When an allegation is brought against a foster parent, it means they have been accused. Allegations are almost always negative, as regulatory bodies are rarely contacted to report foster parents being too good at their role. Formally, an allegation is a positive assertion, declaration, or formal complaint of wrongdoing.

1. What is an Allegation?
In the context of you as a Foster Parent
fostering, we will use the word Allegation as a
parallel with Accusation.
As the “Allegator” (“Alligator”) brings an alleged
incident involving you to a third party’s attention
it becomes an accusation. So when there is an
allegation brought concerning you as a foster
parent you have been accused.
It is unfortunately an extremely rare occasion
that such allegations are positive. We have yet to
see a third party make an allegation to the State
about a foster parent being too good of a foster
parent.
As is more the norm and being that this is the
purpose of this information, we will deal with
allegations as a negative for the individual foster
parent.
