Dr. Pan Tao has fifteen years of experience working on urban development, environmental management, energy efficiency, and GHG reduction initiatives in China. As China Urban Program Director with the Institute for Sustainable Communities, Pan Tao is bringing together the best U.S. and Chinese resources to promote increased energy efficiency and reduced GHG emission and increase the use of successful energy efficiency models and practices in Chinese cities. His efforts provide climate leadership and training and technical assistance opportunities for Chinese municipal, provincial, and private sector leaders, integrate resources that assist cities in implementing GHG reduction projects from leading approaches and promising practices through the world. He is fluent in Chinese and has advanced proficiency in English. And he initiated a community garden project in Shanghai, promoting urban families’ natural life style.
