Ministry of Sports and the GFA Visit Schools to Promote the CONCACAF
U17 Women’s Championship Grenada 2016
Wednesday 23rd February, 2016-St. George’s-
There was excitement, smiling faces and loud applause as members of the U17
Women’s National Team were formally introduced to their school mates.
School visits have started in an effort to promote the CONCACAF U17 Women’s
Tournament which will be held in Grenada March 3rd

Two Secondary Schools were visited on Tuesday 23rd
February; the St. Andrew’s
Anglican Secondary and the St. Joseph’s Convent, St. Andrews.
Visiting the schools were Sports Minister Hon. Emmalin Pierre, the Grenada
Football Association’s Communications Officer Ria Murray and Soca duo Luni
Sparks and Electrify.
Minister Pierre told the students that they should be proud of their classmates for
making the sacrifice to work hard to represent team Grenada.
GFA Communications Officer Ria Murray introduced the students attached to the
U17 Women’s team to loud applause while Luni Sparks and Electrify got the
children to sing along while performing their hit, “Winner.”

St.Andrew's are Brittney Charles (Forward), Aaliyah Jackson (Forward-Captain),
Alleyah Rennie(Wingback) and Shawntel Fletcher (Left Wing).
While, members of the National U17 Women's Squad attending the St.Andrew's
Anglican Secondary School are Cassie Rennie (Midfield),Cardisha Rennie (Left
Wing),Sabrina Rennie (goalkeeper), Keldonna Jeffrey (Left Wing) and Diamond
Lewis (forward).
The Minister announced that free buses will be provided to each school to allow
students to attend CONCACAF matches to cheer on team Grenada. Tickets for
adults are $10 dollars and it is $5 dollars for children. They can be purchased on
match days at the venue.
Visits are planned for other schools later this week.
