- 14. Who we are… The Student Energy Ambassador Development (S.E.A.D.) program is a unique interactive experience designed to engage everyone in the exciting and empowering ways they can save money on their electric bills while making a difference in our community!

Engage in an interactive, inquiry-based workshop and learn to use equipment to conduct energy audits 4. Be able to explain to others the importance of conserving energy 5. Create a plan to reduce their school’s overall energy consumption

Energy Kit & Benefits Benefit: By participating in this program you will receive: •A $200 energy audit kit •$50 in incentives and prizes for your group •Energy-training workshops where participants get hands- on energy auditing experience, set goals for energy- saving projects and participate in an Energy Ambassador Certification Ceremony •Ongoing mentorship and support to cultivate a culture of energy savings.

- Building on the Success of UH’s Student MovementThis program builds on the successful Sustainable Saunders initiative that strove to transform one building, Saunders Hall, into a model of sustainability for the University of Hawaii at Manoa campus, Hawaii and beyond. A passionate team of students delamped (removed) 50% of the lightbulbs in Saunders, greatly reducing headaches and eyestrains reported by occupants. Combined with timed air conditioning shut downs, they were able to reduce Saunder’s energy use by 24% in one year, saving $149,900 annually without spending a cent.
