13. Outlook for February
Data analysis of Hermosa Beach real estate activity for January 2014 relative to the same time last year
revealed a 50% increase in sales and almost a 53% reduction in the months of inventory. However, the
median sales price, median days to sell, and the number of listings all trended negative. What explains
the latter? Well, it can be any number of issues including, but not limited to, the Fed’s tapering back of QE
stimulus, tax season, and the current disposition of our national economy. Nevertheless, what is
promising is that the cost to borrow money remains at historically low levels. Thus, it is assumed February
will produce similar if not better results than those recorded in January.
