As TEQSA ramps-up its interest in how higher education institutions are mediating a level of quality in online courses, it is timely for our institutions to understand what options they have at their disposal to help meet, what will eventually become, obligatory reporting. This will predictably involve being able to provide evidence of quality processes across three levels; the unit/course level, the course/program level and at an institutional level. To help an institution establish, or initiate practices to assist them in meeting these requirements, there are a number of existing and emerging tools that are now being used and trialled within the sector. There are also a number of professional bodies who are really keen to get involved in this space, mainly as a way of supporting their members and member institutions. This presentation will present a systematic review of the literature and a sector scan of the current tools and methodologies being used by a range of institutions and professional bodies. It will also provide some insights into what tools are emerging in this space. To support, or augment these tools and methodologies, there are also a range of support, or scaffolding activities institutions can, or have been be involved in, as they seek to support their internal quality improvement practices. Examples of current practices will be drawn on to illustrate the main points in this presentation along with a brief report on the most recent ACODE Inter-institutional Benchmarking Summit, held in June 2018 at Griffith University. At this event 25 Australasian Institutions undertook a rigorous benchmarking activity using some or all of the eight benchmarks focusing on technology enhanced learning and teaching. In conclusion this presentation will challenge institutions to take seriously their mandate to provide their students with learning environments that meet the highest possible quality, particularly now in a higher education setting that will come under increased scrutiny by regulatory bodies. More importantly, it will reflect on what the potential implications are for institutions in moderating their learning management and associated systems.

This session reports on a trial designed to expand the adoption of e-marking, and reduce the cost and waste associated with printing assignments at the University of Adelaide. 30 iPads were purchased and pre-loaded with eMarking software to enable participants to trial e-marking in a supportive environment. The recipients were trained in using iPads and mobile e-marking apps, together with the MyUni assignment functions, to build their confidence un using technology for marking. The session will outline the learnings from the trial and factors contributing towards its success in convincing more than the originally intended participants to try paperless marking, and consider the impact and benefits of marking online versus printing. It will discuss the 'Dissemination for Action' model used within the project to bring about a change of marking practice across a wide variety of academic disciplines. Delivered at Innovate and Educate: Teaching and Learning Conference by Blackboard. 24 -27 August 2015 in Adelaide, Australia.

Digital technology has become an important tool for teaching, learning, and leading in our schools. We also know our students use technology frequently in their everyday lives. This meeting is the start of conversations about how digital technology is used in our school and how we can support our students to effectively use technology in and out of school in safe, respectful, and responsible ways.

Presentation for the VII International Seminar of the UOC UNESCO Chair in e-Learning: Mobile Technologies for Learning & Development. In recent years there have been amazing advances in consumer technology. The Mobile Learning Network (MoLeNET) initiative has enabled colleges and schools to harness some of this technology in order to modernise aspects of teaching, learning and training. The result has been improvements in learner engagement, retention, achievement and satisfaction. This presentation draws on the experiences of approximately 40,000 learners and over 7,000 staff who have been involved in MoLeNET mobile learning projects during 2007/08, 2008/09 and 2009/2010.

This research is about the readiness of teachers and students to develop E-learning and M-learning for the learning process. Before developing and implementing an E-learning and M-learning system, it is important to ensure the user's readiness for the technology. Users' perceptions will affect their willingness and readiness to use the system. This study aims to investigate the teachers and students perceptions about E-learning and M-learning, ensuring their readiness to involve in developing online learning process. The study was conducted by survey methods, questionnaires and direct interviews with prospective users in the schools, students, teachers and principals. Research respondents were from Junior High School and Senior High Schools in Samarinda. The questionnaires will be carried out in two stages, before and after the development of E-learning and M-learning systems. The findings obtained from this study indicate that research partner schools are ready and able to participate in developing E-learning and M-learning systems.

The 4th Annual eLearning Innovators Conference & Expo (ELICE), an international conference for mobile educators, researchers, innovators & leaders, was held between 12th-16th September at KICD in Nairobi. This year's event attracted over 300 delegates during the five day event. The 2016 theme, Powering Growth, saw us kick off conversations about mobile learning, competency based learning and digital literacy. From key notes - on gamification in learning, collaboratively building capacity for financial inclusion and using big data to empower decision making and M&E - to workshops and a networking mixer; the conference was a great opportunity to discover and discuss trends in the industry, network and build potential partnerships. www.elice.co
