a feature film to an audience. They are advertised for
the films target audience depending on the genre and
age group. The wider the trailers are advertised the
more audiences they will attract. They work to attract
an audience by editing together clips from the film that
identify the genre and the storyline and also have USP
(Unique Selling Point), this could be a star actor, or
director or genre that is different/popular or attracts a
wider audience. They are shown in cinema’s at the
same point that the film is being edited, and a few
months or weeks before the feature is released.

social sites such as facebook. It has also been
advertised through use of magazines and
posters.

• The Battleship posters attract the audience
through different methods. They have posters
featuring one actor, usually the
popular/famous actors that are in the film.
They use a clolour scheme, in this case blue
and black, so that audience can see that each
poster is connected. They may also depict a
scene from the film, such as an action
sequence so that they can attract the
audience.
