2. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
First, when trying to compare my magazines conventions to another magazine, I need
to set out what the actual conventions are of a movie magazine.
CONVENTIONS
1. A masthead stating the name/logo of the magazine’s name.
2. Cover lines. As with any magazine, I have used cover lines to talk about additional
stories inside the issue.
3. Cover Photo. All magazines have a photo. There is no exception for a movie
magazine. Usually relating to the main story.
4. Price. Issue number/date. Barcode
5. A Main story or ‘issue feature’. This usually takes up most room on a magazines
front cover, grabbing the attention of the reader.
6. Additional photos. Some magazines have additional photos, in relation to other
stories. Some magazines choose to do this, where as some don’t.
