Summery
Has a valuable Egyptian experience, education and training in environmental, domestic
and industrial wastewater, sludge and reuse management, Implementation of Egyptian sludge
management and effluent reuse management regulations. Consultant of wastewater management
at tourist villages and industrial companies. .
Leading the sludge composting trials through two years ended with establishing the first
successful Egyptian sludge composting system at site 9N of Alexandria sanitary drainage
company year 1998 till now. Establish and manage the first Egyptian sanitary landfill for safe
disposal of screenings, scum and industrial solid waste.
Establish Industrial wastewater management systems in Alexandria sanitary drainage company
(ASDCO),. Kena for water and Wastewater Company and the system runned successfully as
well as leading the improvement and upgrading of industrial wastewater system in the industries
of Borg ElArab Industrial city. As well as implementing and designing industrial applied
management training programs for industrial effluent staff of 21 water and wastewater
companies belong to the holding company for water and wastewater .
Working with SWITCH as national consultant which has been introduced to Alexandria to set
the city to be among the leading cities in implementing Integrated Urban Water Management
(IUWM). An IUWM long term plan was developed (New strategies for wastewater management
and reuse – 2037). The IUWM plan addresses current problems and issues of urban water
management in Alexandria including lack of sanitation coverage, industrial pollution and
challenges facing the supply of water to a city that is located at the end of the Nile River system,
which is considered the main renewable water resource of Egypt that supplies more than 95% of
its demand.
Active member of Alexandria Effluent Reuse study instructed through European community
fund through WRc (Water Research center). Recently participate in expert group which proposed
the suggestion for Egyptian national sludge management strategy through improving the
Capacity of the Holding Company for Water and Waste Water (HCWW) Ministry of Housing,
Utilities and Urban Development, Egypt

2. Work experience
. I have plus 30 years experience in the field of waste water management, industrial effluent
control, sludge management and effluent reuse management. And also I have a distinctive skills
training in the areas referred previously.
I was associated with the pollution control of water bodies management in Alexandria of Egypt
and community based integrated water management activities. I was intensively involved in
capacity building of industrial effluent management at water and waste water holding company
and new industrial cities. I also have experience in, development and management of vocation,
training for industries, water and sanitation companies.

19941996 Participating in studies of sludge treatment and dewatering in Alexandria in
cooperation with the National research center, as a pilot mechanical sludge
dewatering unit was designed by pressure belts and an anaerobic digestion unit to
benefit from produced gases as an energy source in addition to operating an
anaerobic composting unit in a way to minimize the side impacts of composting
