Service Transformation Taster Event 
                                 Part of the LLMC’s MSc Commissioning series 
                                                           
                                           DATE:  3rd November 2011 
                                            TIME: 9.00am—4.30pm

Delivering change in a healthcare environment can be a lengthy, challenging process. Financial constraints, 
shifting strategic focus, organisational restructuring and bureaucracy can often hinder project progress.   

Improving service delivery and effectively managing change requires an appreciation of fundamental 
organizational analysis tools and techniques, Organizational Behaviour (including teamwork), and Project 
Management.  

This taster event focuses on the Project Management element of service transformation and will introduce 
delegates to PROMPT, a tool designed specifically to managing projects in health. PROMPT will illustrate that 
through following four key steps during the life of a project, you will maximise the success of delivering your goals 
and objectives.  

Key focus of the day 
→     A detailed walk through the four steps 
→     Exploration of the key themes that underpin project management 
→     Participative exercises 
→     Understand how to use PROMPT project templates 
 
By the end of the day, participants will: 
 
→     Appreciate the role of project management in delivering service transformation and change 

→     Be able to apply PROMPT to a project 

Our approach 

The taster event will be in the form of an interactive workshop, consisting of interactive exercises and 

working through the PROMPT templates.
