WHAT IS THE RAJIV GANDHI EQUITY SAVINGS SCHEME?
Rajiv Gandhi Equity Savings Scheme, 2012 (RGESS) is a scheme announced by the Government of
India to encourage flow of savings of small investors into the equity capital market. Under RGESS,
new retail investors in equities, with gross total income less than or equal to ` 10 lakhs, could claim
deduction of 50% for investments upto ` 50,000 in RGESS eligible securities. Investors also have to
comply with certain other requirements to be eligible for this benefit.

WHAT IS DSP BLACKROCK RGESS* FUND?
DSPBRRGESSF is a 3 year close-ended equity fund that would invest in RGESS eligible securities. The
Fund would also invest a certain portion of its corpus in cash and cash equivalent and money market
instruments from time to time, primarily for portfolio balancing reasons. Units of DSPBRRGESSF
have been recognised as eligible securities for investors seeking tax benefits under RGESS.
IS DSPBRRGESSF AVAILABLE FOR INVESTMENT TO REGULAR INVESTORS WHO ARE
NOT ELIGIBLE FOR RGESS TAX BENEFITS?
Yes, DSPBRRGESSF is available for investment to any investor looking to invest in equity securities
for the long-term.
WHEN CAN ONE INVEST IN DSPBRRGESSF?
Since this is a close-ended fund, investors can invest during the New Fund Offer (NFO) period which
is from Thursday, February 14, 2013 till Thursday, February 28, 2013.
Units of the Fund can be purchased/sold on continuous basis (subject to suspension of trading/lock-
in period) on stock exchanges on which the units of the Fund are listed, during the trading hours
like any other publicly traded stocks.

2. IS A DEMAT ACCOUNT COMPULSORY FOR INVESTING IN DSPBRRGESSF?
Demat account is not compulsory for investing in this Fund. However, demat account is
compulsory for an investor who wishes to avail tax benefits under RGESS and the demat details
should be specified in the application form.
Other investors can hold units in this Fund either in physical or demat form.
IS THERE AN OPTION TO EXIT DSPBRRGESSF BEFORE 3 YEARS?
Since the Fund is close-ended, investors cannot redeem their units through the mutual fund.
Investors have an exit option (subject to lock-in period) through the stock exchanges, since the
units will be listed and traded on the stock exchanges.
However, it is the responsibility of investors availing of RGESS tax benefits to ensure that they
are in compliance with the lock-in requirements under RGESS. Please refer to the RGESS, 2012

WILL DSP BLACKROCK REDEEM THE UNITS ON MATURITY OF DSPBRRGESSF?
At the end of the term of DSPBRRGESSF, all units will be compulsorily, and without any further
act by the investors, redeemed at the Applicable NAV of that day.
IS THERE ANY MAXIMUM LIMIT FOR INVESTMENT IN DSPBRRGESSF?
There is no maximum limit for investment in this Fund. However, investors availing of RGESS tax
benefits should note that the maximum investment for which RGESS tax benefits are available
is Rs.50,000.
