Huurman: “Mafia takes over in Curacao”
THE HAGUE – The Mafia takes over in
Curaçao. This is according to former health inspector Jan Huurman in a opinion
column in the Dutch newspaper Volkskrant. According to Huurman, the
Netherlands can no longer “look away”.
Ordinary citizens on the islands pin their hopes on the Netherlands as guardian of
constitutional guarantees, tells the former inspector. In the article he looks back
on his time as an inspector on the island. This cooperation began positively, but
the tide turned when Huurman came on the track of a fraud network and brought
it to light. Huurman also writes about the murder of Helmin Wiels, and thinks that
everything indicates that the Mafia is behind it. The situation has worsened since
10-10 – ’10 and therefore the Netherlands must take action, says the former
inspector.
For this to occur on the Dutch Antilles means
this is happening under the supervision of the
mother country. How can the one that is
ultimately in charge now blame it on the

bogeyman? It is time for the Netherlands to stop
using their Caribbean Islands so that the same
chosen few get richer while the majority are
being empoverished? Look no further than
Interest rates on home loans. Holland 3.13% 15
year fixed. Curacao-Aruba over 8% 15 year
fixed. Why do Antilleans and Arubans pay over
double for interest rates created out of thin air?
US citizens in Hawaii or Puerto Rico pay the
same interest as Mainlanders.
