7. To whom it may concern:
My name is Hung-Zen, Kuo. I joined the project of concentration photovoltaic
(CPV) project when I worked in the Institute of Nuclear Energy Research (INER)
from Oct. 2004 to Jun 2010. During this project, I worked with a bunch of excellent
people. They are so great that I learned a lot from them such as the procedure of doing
the research, the experiment techniques, the ways of solving problems and the ways
of dealing with the relationship of human beings.
In this project, I was responsible for the solar power plant planning, the power
system analysis and design, the design and simulation of optical lens, the automated
inspection apparatus design for optoelectronic component, the solar cell
indoor/outdoor measurement and the data analysis, the reliability verification of solar
cell and module. Through the above tasks, there are obstructions , like automated
inspection for solar cell, alignment of Fresnel lens with solar cell, solar cell package
and heat dissipation…, etc. However, our team worked together to solve these
problems. We earned several USA and Taiwan invention patents. We developed the
reliable and stable CPV models according to the IEC 62108 and UL8703 standard; I
planned and developed the project of 100kW and 1MW CPV power plant. At the
preliminary stage, it was set in the INER. And then was accomplished in Kaohsiung
County, which is the biggest CPV power plant demonstration in Asia at that time.
In order to enhance my professional knowledge, when I worked in the INER, I
went to the optics and photonics semiconductor classes after work (no credit). By
doing so, I acquired more knowledge to solve the problems when I encountered in my
experiments. I was encouraged by Dr. Shan-Ming Lan, who is a senior researcher, to
pursue the PhD degree in National Central University in 2007.
I have been working in CompSolar since July 2010. I not only improved the
short comings of the designs offered by the prior research team, but also made the
procedures of photovoltaic module more efficient and perfect. I am in charge of the
project of high efficient photovoltaic module and the project of high efficient
photovoltaic receiver. I am also an instructor of the Beijing Green Science and
Technology Industrial Co., Ltd. (BEGI) in Beijing and the 25MW photovoltaic
module assembly line and solar power plant planning.
I am an outgoing person. There is no limit in my career. I hope to apply what I
learned in school such as optical lens design theory and manufacturing method of
optoelectronic component, project management work practices, production line
planning and the final product reliability verification experience to help your
company to solve optoelectronic product design, development, electrical
measurements, reliability verification, the system was built setting and planning as
well as the other problems encountered.
