Soraia Ferreira's research aims to understand the impact of using location-based transmedia storytelling techniques in tourism. Specifically, the research will examine the advantages and disadvantages of these techniques, and identify best practices. The research objectives are to determine if transmedia storytelling can make tourist visits more engaging; analyze how tourists interact across different media platforms; understand the content tourists create and share; and identify the best analytics tools. The anticipated findings are examples of effective location-based transmedia storytelling products for the tourism industry, and contributions to the theoretical understanding of these techniques.
