Caldwell College is pleased to announce that students graduating from a
Catholic high school anywhere in the world are now eligible to receive a
$2,000 scholarship from Caldwell College. The new program is open to full
time freshmen who are accepted at Caldwell and will enter in fall 2014. The
Catholic high school scholarship is renewable for up to 4 years and can be combined with our
academic scholarships that range from $10,000 per year to full tuition.

CENTRAL COLLEGE (IA) INTERNATIONAL STUDENT
SCHOLARSHIPS
Central College is a residential liberal arts college that integrates career
preparation with the development of values essential to responsible
citizenship, empowering graduates for effective service in local, national
and international communities.
Financial Aid is available to qualified international students, ranging from $12,000 to $15,000
(American dollars) per year. The decision to award financial aid is based primarily on two factors:
grades from high school (and college, for transfer students) course work and scores from
standardized tests (TOEFL, SAT, ACT, A-Levels, etc.).

2. UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS (AR) INTERNATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP
FUND
As a land-grant university, the University of Arkansas strives to fulfill a
three-fold mission of teaching, research, and service. In addition, as the
flagship campus of the University of Arkansas System, the University of
Arkansas in Fayetteville serves as the state’s major center of liberal and
professional education and as Arkansas’ main source of theoretical and applied research.
The John and Marie Lavallard International Scholarship Fund shall be awarded annually to an
outstanding international student with financial need at the University of Arkansas campus. The
scholarship will be utilized for tuition plus room and board, and is a one year, non-renewable

TOWSON UNIVERSITY (MD) MERIT BASED SCHOLARSHIPS
Founded in 1866, Towson University is recognized as one of the nation's

Towson University offers a merit scholarship program for new undergraduate international students

HUSSON UNIVERSITY (ME) UNDERGRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS
Husson is a university of choice for premier professional programs where

3. INSTITUTE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION RELEASES THE 2013
OPEN DOORS REPORT ON INTERNATIONAL EDUCATIONAL
EXCHANGE
Recently, the Institutes of International Education (IIE) released its 2013
Open Doors Report on International Educational Exchange. The report, which is published annually
by IIE in partnership with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs,
identifies important trends in international educational exchanges.
Findings of the Open Doors report were the subject of a briefing in Washington, D.C. on November
12, led by Assistant Secretary of State Evan M. Ryan and IIE President and CEO Allan E.
Goodman. Two major findings were the increases in international students coming to the U.S. -- up
7 percent to a record high of 819,644 -- and American students studying abroad -- up 3 percent to a
total of 283,332. Open Doors also reports on the number of international scholars at U.S.
universities; international students enrolled in pre-academic Intensive English Programs; and on
U.S. students studying abroad. During the event, leaders from the international education
community discussed other key trends, how economic factors and education policies affect student
mobility and also the many ways in which academic exchanges strengthen diplomatic and business
relationships throughout the world.
