7. 4 – Measure, Monitor and Optimize
Consumption
To reduce consumption
and actively manage
resources, Intel’s IT team
started by creating an IT
Baseline Sustainability
Model .
Using this model, we
estimate ~10% reduction
in our CO2 footprint over
the past 2 years.

8. 5- Enable Sustainable
Facilities
One of Intel’s most
impactful sustainability
initiatives to date, is our
data center efficiency
program.

Behavior
Since 2009, Intel has linked a
portion of employee
compensation to achieving
corporate environmental
goals.

Avoidance
One key initiative is video
conferencing. We estimate
that videoconferencing saved
employees 325,000 travel
hours in 2011, and avoided
more than $62 million in
travel expenses and over
50,000 metric tons of CO2
emissions.

Innovations
