The document proposes a solution to improve the quality of primary education in India. It suggests having secondary, higher secondary and graduate students devote 1-2 hours daily to teach primary school children. This would improve interest in learning, reduce gaps between privileged and underprivileged children, and increase the ratio of students pursuing higher education, all at half the current primary education budget. Key steps include students from older grades teaching at primary schools using interactive tools and taking younger children for exposure visits to their colleges.

2. Primary education
Primary education is the first stage of compulsory education. It is preceded
by either the pre-school or nursery education and is followed by secondary
education. Primary education gives a child a platform and an approach to realise
his dreams.
The quality of Primary education in India is a big problem. In 2008, only about 50%
of IIIrd Standard students could read Ist Standard text, but to make it more worse,
it declined to 30% by 2012 .... A fall of 16 % !!! Today, about 50% of the IIIrd
Standard kids cannot even correctly recognise digits up to 100, where as they are
supposed to learn two digit subtraction. In 2008, about 70 percent of the kids
could do this. This is a serious situation which needs to be addressed.
WHY IT IS?????
1. Our education system is not able to create interest in education.
2. Our educational objectives are only transforming our kids to
bookworms. We can’t even value their dreams and aspirations.
3. WHY THIS TOPIC????: This topic touches our hearts and if we are able to
resolve it , it will not only do us lots of benefits but also serve for
India’s purpose .
CONCEPT :
Only a student can understand the problem of another student. Henceforth,
he/she can easily get acclimatised to the ground conditions and can solve the
problems in an effective manner.
A student knows how to solve the problem in easiest way and that too effectively.
As Steve Jobs said -“A lazy guy can find a more simple and effective s way to
solve the problem ”.
The focus point is to create interest in kids towards education. if we are able to
create interest towards learning in kids, then we will be able to improve the
quality of primary education in India.
PROPOSED SOLUTION
4. Implementation method
As per the census of
2011,there are 15.8
crore kids in the age
group of 5-12years and
90% of those are
connected to
education.
As per a survey
conducted in the year
2012,there are
2.5crore primary kids
in school and for their
purpose, 53.6 lakh
primary teachers have
been deployed. We
have nearly 1.5 crore
secondary ,higher
secondary and
graduate students .
If our secondary, high
secondary and
graduate students just
devote 1-2 hours per
day for educating kids,
and govt pays them
some amount(on an
hourly basis),it will not
only give students
some part time
income but also
prevent the waste on
primary education.
5. Students of Sec.,high Sec. Schools, Graduates
colleges can go to Rajiv Gandhi Pathshalas
,Anganwadi Kendras or to primary schools
(nearest..based on their convenience) and
teach them with their own method so as to
make small kids more inclined towards
education and learning.
In Rajiv Gandhi Pathshala , Anganwadi Kendra
the govt. provides many teaching instruments.
The students can better utilise them that like
we can teach them maths with the help of
Abacus (first comp as like a kids black slate
with rubber ball in wires)or create interest in
science with the help science magic .
It is also possible that primary school kids
can visit the Sec.,high sec. School s and
graduation colleges and students can
help them in making them comfortable
with higher education. From this, the big
gap b/w college students and kids can be
reduced. Interest in education will also
improve .
We can organise educational fairs for
primary school children at the district
level and if possible 3-4 in every district .
All colleges must be made to actively
participate in fairs by doing stuffs as
science magic and education related
things.
QUALITY
PRIMARY
EDUCATION
6. Merits of the proposed solution
This step would help enormously in improving the interest of kids towards basic
primary education.
The gap b/w poor and rich kids as far as their educational skills are concerned will
be decreased .
Teaching quality would improve ,leadership qualities and self-dependence in
graduates students would increase and from the payment system student will not
entirely depend on their parents .
Bonding between two generations will be improve and that would be of great
help to the nation.
Ratio of the students who pursue higher education will increase.
Expected budget for this is nearly half of the over primary education budget
means saving of people’s money with greater efficiency.
Hence, the conclusion is that the step would definitely improve the quality of the
primary education.
7. EDUCATIONAL STRUCTURE
Higher
Education
FOR PAYMENT OF
WILLING STUDENTS:
4500 crores per
annum(which is nothing
as compared to total
money spent on paying
teachers which is
approx. 1.30 lakh
crores)
TRAVEL
CONCESSIONS:
3000 crores per annum
ON EDUCATIONAL
FAIRS:
1100 crores per
annum(if 4 fairs are
conducted per annum)
Primary
Education
CREATING INTEREST

STEPS:
5000 crores per
annum
9. CHALLENGES
The biggest challenge lies in driving the youth of today for the
cause.
Poorer section of the society often tends to send their children
to work rather than to school. Hence, a major challenge lies in
influencing them to send their kids to study.
Another difficulty would be in ensuring that proper payment is
done and corruption is not at all tolerated.
Ensuring that proper transparency is maintained as far as
payment and devoting proper time is concerned.
