4. Typical architecture
Thin Client Stations
Online Data, Dashboards,
Cloud-based History Charts, Reports, and so
Online + History information forth
(Microsoft SQL Server)
Cloud computing:
Convenient, on-demand network
access to a shared pool of
TCP/IP configurable computing resources
(e.g., networks, servers, storage,
applications, and services) that can
be rapidly provisioned and released
Local HMI with minimal management effort or
service provider interaction
(Operation)
RTUs
(PLCs, Remote I/Os, etc)
5. Basic Concepts
Essential Characteristics Main Benefits
On-demand Self-service Economic Benefits
Broad Network Access Better Agility
Resource Pooling Greater Accessibility
Rapid Elasticity Improved Reliability
Measured Service Superior Security
Deployment Models Service Models
Private Cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS)
Public Cloud Platform as a Service (PaaS)
Hybrid Cloud Software as a Service (SaaS)
6. Database Models
Redundant: In this mode, IWS saves
data in both Primary and Secondary
Databases. If one of these databases is SCADA
unavailable, IWS keeps saving data only (InduSoft Web Studio)
in the database that is available. When
the database that was unavailable
becomes available again, IWS
synchronizes both databases
automatically.
Store and Forward: In this mode, IWS
saves data in the Primary Database
only. If the Primary Database becomes
unavailable, IWS saves the data in the
Primary Secondary
Secondary Database. When the Primary
Database Database
Database becomes available again, IWS
(MS SQL Server) (MS SQL Server)
moves the data from the Secondary
Database into the Primary Database.
7. PML - Background
PML has been providing Mud Logging services in
the US since 1969.
Recently acquired by new owners with the
objective of expanding the business nationally,
then internationally, and into the adjacent space.
Provide services at the level of market leaders.
8. PML – Solution provider selection process
• Increase information availability for the client
• Drilling information
• Geological information
• Provide integration capabilities
• Increase system uptime via on line diagnostics
• Outsource non-strategic engineering.
•In-source core analyzer technology.
10. PML EDGE
Configuration and diagnostics of the network system
11. PML EDGE
Analyzing the rig system locally or remotely
12. PML EDGE
Analyzer configuration with intuitive graphical interface
13. PML EDGE
Calibration and configuration of gas analysis through the cloud
14. PML EDGE
Local operation and remote monitoring features in real-time
15. PML EDGE
Integration of third-party data demonstrating well position information
16. PML EDGE
Integration demonstrating PML and third-party data
17. PML EDGE
Remote Notification and mobile access
18. PML EDGE - SaaS
Local Operation and Remote Analysis
by PML and by the end user
19. PML EDGE - Benefits
With the EDGE System, PML innovated
and leveraged the technology provided
by InduSoft as an enabler for their core
competency (well drilling) and created a
sustainable competitive advantage in its
industry.
PML’s ability to share, in real time over the
web, information that includes wellbore
characteristics such as gamma ray, liberated
gas components, lithology, penetration rates
and directional information with key
stakeholders will add significant value to their
suit of evolving solutions.
