2. How to use EPO
Your doctor will tell you the exact dose you need and the
duration of the treatment. It is administrated
subcutaneously and we recommend that the
administration is at the same time each day.

1.Wash your hands.
!
2. About 15 minutes prior to administration, remove the
syringe from the refrigerator for it to warm up. Make sure
the liquid is clear and free from particles.
!
3. Remove a needle from the pack, fix it securely on to
the syringe and remove the protective cap from the
needle.
!
4. Expel air from the syringe and needle. Do this lightly
tapping on the upper half of the syringe.Then hold the
syringe vertically and the needle upwards, and gently
push the plunger upwards.
Keep pushing the plunger until the amount of EPO in the
syringe is as prescribed.

5. Clean the skin at the injection site using an alcohol wipe.
Form a skin fold by pinching the skin between thumb and
forefinger.

6. Insert the needle into the skin fold with a quick, firm
action. Inject the EPO solution.Withdraw the needle and
apply pressure over the injection site with a dry, sterile
pad.
7. Finally lay the syringe into the container..
The most suitable places for injection are the front of the thights and the
abdomen except for the area around the.navel.
It is better to change the injection site every day to avoid the risk of soreness
at any one site.
3. EPO

Epoetina beta,is a hormon which stimulates the production of red blood cells. It is an anti-anemia
drug.

Effects that can appear !
At the beginning of the treatment, may have symptoms like headache, dizziness, fatigue and joint
pain. Hypertension can also occur, so that blood pressure should be controlled by the doctor.!

If you forget any dose !
If you have forgotten to inject a dose, speak to your doctor or pharmacist to find out when you
should inject the next dose. Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten injection!

Cautions !
Do not use this medication if you are allergic to it or any of the product components and if you
have blood pressure problems that cannot be controlled.!

Store conditions !
Store in a refrigerator (2-8 ºC) It is important to keep them in the fridge but not the freezer.!
The syringe can be kept out of the fridge for a single period of up to three days at room
temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
