- Birth-to-Work targets systems change by integrating and improving existing systems for each transition period to form a seamless web of supports at key points in development focusing on all levels of community systems that support development – that is, families, neighborhoods, organizations, and community systems. Birth-to-Work combines the resources of the Lansing Area community to promote positive transitions from birth to adulthood through critical periods of development with special emphasis on those living in areas of concentrated poverty. © 2010 Michigan State University Board of Trustees

In this respect, it is both a source of information and an avenue of connection that aims to help support children, families, organizations, and communities. It bolsters efforts to ensure that ALL children, youth and young adults make positive transitions through critical developmental stages. Users of this web site will be able to find potential partners by browsing through the profiles of individuals who have identified an interest in children, youth, or young adults within one or more of the six interest areas: Economic, Social, Physical, Emotional, Spiritual, and Intellectual. Users can also contact Guides to help them navigate the engagement process.
