We depart in the evening for Bangkok to connect with our onward flight

4. Monday 28th April
TOUR LINK
We arrive early in the morning in Amman, Jordan, where we will be met by
our guide and coach. We drive west toMt Nebo, where will gaze into
the Promised Land, as Moses did. We travel south on the ancient Desert
Highway toPetra. Afternoon and evening are free to rest.

5. Tuesday 29th April
TOUR LINK
Today we spend the day at Petra. We can walk into Petra, choose either to be
led on horseback by local Bedouins or ride in a carriage. (An extra tipping
charge applies for those using horseback or carriage ride). We have time for
easy, moderate and hard walks – as desired. Petra is a spectacular Nabatean
city from before the time of Jesus, in south-west Jordan. Enjoy the soft colours
of the setting sun.

6. Wednesday 30th April
TOUR LINK
We enter Israel this morning via the Arava border crossing. We visit the
Israelite Tabernacle replica at Timna. This is a great experience. We reach
Beersheba in the afternoon and visit sites connected with the Battle of Beersheba
which took place on 31st October 1917. The Park of the Australian Soldier was
dedicated to the memory of the Australian Light Horse regiment that captured the
town from the Turkish Empire. The Beersheba War Cemetery has 1,241
Commonwealth graves from WWI. Tel es-Saba was overrun by the Auckland Mounted
Rifles Regiment, supported by Australian and British troops. It also contains the ruins
of 7th century BC Beersheba, and Abraham’s Well. Chauvel’s Hill offers an
unimpeded view of the 6-kilometre path where the 4th and 12th Australian Light
Horse regiments charged into the Turkish guns.
We drive north to our hotel on the Dead Sea.

7. Thursday 1st May 2014

This morning we visit Ein Gedi, David’s place of refuge from Saul.
Later we ascend to the mighty fortress of Masada, the site of the final stand of
960 Jewish defenders against the Roman Empire. From its heights, by cable
car, we enjoy tremendous views of Jordan and the Dead Sea.
Upon returning to our hotel we will enjoy a ‘float’ in the medicinal waters of
the Dead Sea. Bookings for the mineral rich spa treatments must be made in
advance with your tour guide.

8. Friday 2nd May
TOUR LINK
This morning we drive north towards Galilee. On the way we make a short
photo stop at Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered. We follow
the scenic Jordan Valley past Jericho and on to the Decapolis city of Beit
She’an, where King Saul’s body was hung on the city gates by the Philistines.

9. Saturday 3rd May
TOUR LINK
Today we explore the historical area of Galilee. Remember how Jesus walked
on the water?
Our boat will take us across the Sea of Galilee, stopping in the middle for a time of
reflection and singing. Rejoice! Jesus is alive. We disembark at Nof Ginosar, a kibbutz
located on the shores of the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) where we will see the remains of
aboat from the time of Jesus. Arriving later at Capernaum, the city of Jesus, we visit the
site of the synagogue where Jesus performed many miracles. You will see the excavations
of St. Peter’s house and visit Tabgha, where Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fishes to
feed the multitudes. Later ascending to the top of the Mount of Beatitudes, we will read
from the Sermon on the Mount. We finish our day at the Yardenit baptism site on
the Jordan River. Opportunity will be given for those wishing to be baptised, or for those
already baptised, to rededicate themselves through immersion in the Jordan. Moving on
to Tiberias, we learn the significance of Migdal, Mt Arbel and the Horns of Hittim.

10. Sunday 4th May
TOUR LINK
After breakfast, we travel to the Golan Heights to an overview of the Damascus Road.
We will explore Tel Dan, the site of one of King Jeroboam’s golden calf idols. Next stop
is Banias, (Caesarea Philippi), where Peter declared Jesus to be “the Son of the Living
God.” Here we can enjoy views of the Crusader-era Muslim castle known as Nimrod.

Monday 5th May
This morning we visit Tel Megiddo, Tel Megiddo was the location of a chariot city of
Kings Solomon and Ahab. From here we see the Yisre’el Valley, the large plain where
the final battle of Armageddon is prophesied to take place. In the afternoon we
visit Nazareth, where Jesus grew to manhood. We spend time at Nazareth Village,
seeing the recreated village life as it was in the time of Jesus.

11. Tuesday 6th May
TOUR LINK
This morning we leave to go to Jerusalem visiting Mukhraka at Mt Carmel, our
first stop, is where Elijah called down fire from Heaven on his sacrificial altar.
Travelling south along the coast, we go to Caesarea, site of Herod’s Palace,
home of Cornelius, and where Paul was brought to trial. We continue to follow
the ocean route to Tel Aviv, where we will briefly sojourn in the ancient port
city of Joppa, home of Simon the Tanner and where Jonah, fleeing from the
Lord, embarked his ship for Tarshish.
There we have time to stroll through the narrow streets filled with art galleries
and cafes. Beginning our memorial ascent ‘up to Jerusalem’, we arrive for
overnight at the ‘City of God’. (B-D).
12. Wednesday 7th May
TOUR LINK
We awaken in the city of the Great King, Jerusalem, the geographic center of
the world. You can feel the atmosphere that sets Jerusalem apart from any
other city in the world. We have a full day of touring Old Jerusalem, following
in the footsteps of Jesus, including the Church of the Ascension, Mt of
Olives and the Garden of Gethsemane. Entering into the Old City through St
Stephen’s Gate, we visit the Pool of Bethesda, where Jesus cured an invalid
and then go to the Church of St Anne. We continue to the Ecce Homo
Convent to view the Lithostrotos and visit the Praetorium, site of the public
trial and condemnation of Jesus. We continue through the picturesque bazaar
streets, passing the Stations of the Cross along the Via Dolorosa arriving at
the Church Of The Holy Sepulchre. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B-D).
13. Thursday 8th May
TOUR LINK
Today we visit the Cardo, the heart of Jerusalem. We view the restored Hurva
Synagogue in the Jewish Quarter and then visit the Western Wall tunnels.
We have Holy time to pray at the Western Wall, the most sacred site for the Jewish
people and later we ascend the Temple Mount to the Dome of the Rock, (security
permitting), the site where Abraham offered up Isaac. Next we visit the City of
David and King Hezekiah’s water tunnel. The tunnel was built in the 7th century BC to
bring water into the city and hide the water supply from the besieging Assyrian Army.
Then we tour the Herodian tunnel. Imagine hundreds of thousands of people climbing
up the stairs to the Temple Mount! We visit the Hulda Steps, believed to be the very
stepstaken by Jesus up to the Temple Mount.
The afternoon visit takes us to Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, in honour of the six
million Jewish lives taken during WWII Holocaust. Overnight in Jerusalem. (B-D).
14. Friday 9th May
TOUR LINK
We begin our day with a visit to the fabulous Saint Peter in-Gallicantu Church.
According to tradition, this was the place of the palace of high priest Caiaphas.
Its name is given after the story of Peter’s triple denial of Christ before the
cock crowed. From here we visit the Shrine of the Book, which houses
the Dead Sea Scrolls, and a Model of Jerusalem, including the Jewish
temple,in the time of Christ. In the afternoon we take a pilgrimage to where it
all began – Bethlehem, the birthplace of Messiah.
We make a short visit to Manger Square and the Church of the Nativity and
spend time at the Shepherds Fields cave, en route passing by Rachael’s Tomb.
We will visit a souvenir store in Bethlehem.

15. Saturday 10th May
TOUR LINK
This morning we complete our time in the Holy City with a visit to the Garden
Tomb and celebrate a Communion service with the empty tomb in the
background. The serenity of this place makes it a spiritual oasis within this
bustling city.This is the ultimate place of worship in Jerusalem. We celebrate
the resurrection of our King. Then we have a free afternoon.

16. Sunday 11th May
TOUR LINK
This is a free day to rest and enjoy your hotel facilities – or to explore the Old
City yourself, using the Bible as your guide.
After a farewell dinner at our hotel, we transfer to the airport for our flight via
Amman to Bangkok. (B-D).
Monday 12th May
Afternoon arrival to Bangkok for onward connections (Meals in flight)
Tuesday 13th May
Morning arrival with a new understanding of the Bible and memories to last a
lifetime! (Meals in flight)
