barrier and vapor retarder.

Some manufacturers make a big deal of super low perm ratings.
Studies show that at .1 perms, a material has a moisture blocking
ratio of 99.96%.
Think about it, that’s 4 one hundredths of one percent. We really
need to be looking at seams, tape, and overall installation.
3. Why Tape is Important
ASTM 1745-09 mandates a provider of
vapor barrier MUST:
Detail seam, lap, penetration procedures
Detail seam, lap, penetration materials
PROVIDE seaming medium (by specification) that meets or
exceeds the vapor barrier tech properties.

6. Where its made matters
Barrier Bac is made in the USA. It is 100% domestic. From the
resin to the finished product, it is born and raised in Lolita, TX.
The Barrier Bac line is made by Inteplast, an ISO 9001:2008
manufacturer. This is the highest international quality standard
available and Inteplast is the largest plastics extruder / resin
producer in the world.
7. How its made matters
Barrier Bac is a ribbed, cross laminated,
extruded film.
7 cross laminations make for increased puncture resistance
7 cross laminations do not allow punctures to propagate
Ribbed surface reduces personnel slippage
Ribbed surface provide mechanical bond to concrete
( up to 4lbs / sqin peel adhesion )
Ribbed surface provides and overlap interlock for stress free
seaming.
8. Barrier Bac VB 250
11 mil high performance under slab vapor barrier developed for
the construction industry to retard moisture migration through
concrete slab. It may also be used to control radon, methane,
sulphates and many other soil contaminants. VB-250 exceeds
Class A, B, C of ASTM E1745-09 specifications.
Applications
It is the most cost efficient solution to vapor moisture migration
and most reliable replacement of visqueen sheet.
Availability
VB-250 is available in standard roll, green color, and size 12.75
ft × 200 ft. However, other colors and sizes are available upon
request.
9. Barrier Bac VB 350
16 mil high performance under slab vapor barrier developed for
the construction industry to retard moisture migration through
concrete slab. It may also be used to control radon, methane,
sulphates and many other soil contaminants. VB-350 exceeds
Class A, B, C of ASTM E1745 specifications.
Applications
It is used in projects of high requirements in water vapor
permeance, tensile strength and puncture resistance.
Availability
VB-350 is available in standard roll, green color, and size 12.75
ft × 150 ft. However, other colors and sizes are available upon
request.
10. Barrier Bac VBC 350
31 mil Composite vapor barrier with non-woven geo-textile
fabric lamination. With the extra lamination, VBC-350 provides
a mechanical bond with concrete when placed with geo-textile
facing concrete pour (Peel Adhesion to Concrete up to 8 lbs/in).
This bond greatly improves slab protection from moisture
migration by maintaining tight contact with the slab, especially
under expansive soil conditions where foundations may swell
and contract.
