2. The purpose of a opening for a film is to entice the audience into the film. This is so that keep watching.

3. The opening to a film must do several things for example it must introduce the main characters of the film but it must also set the genre of the film whether it is a horror, romance or a action adventure.

4. Directors set out the opening to a film in many ways for example: They might use a Title sequence. An example of this would be the title sequence at the start of a James Bond film. This would be used to inform the audience who is featured in the film but also who is the director and everyone that helped with the film.

5. A further example could be a flash back this gives the audience of what has happened in the past and therefore sets up the film.

6. Shot of the location is also a way films open this will inform the reader where the film is being set an example of this could be a Arial shot maybe taken from a helicopter that would fly over a location for example the Hollywood sign.

7. Fight scenes and chases sense are also very popular for action adventure types of films this is because it will appeal to the target audience of this genre which is primarily boys and therefore they get interested in the film from the start.

8. Narration can also be used at the start of films. This can be done with narration that is put over the top of a film or it could be speech from the actual film. This is a useful way to inform the audience about the characters and can also give a picture of what the film is about as it could be used to set the scene.
