This letter of recommendation is in support of Jorge L.
Gutierrez-Diaz's application for employment within your
organization.
I am a former colleague and dear friend of Jorge's, who has
had the pleasant opportunity to work often, jointly and
successfully with him during his previous role as Distribution
Sales Channel Manager with Anixter. In my previous role, I
was the Regional Sales Manager for Corning Cable
Systems, serving the Caribbean & Central American region
(Public Sector). Because our territories cross-linked, we
frequently worked jointly to secure business, therefore I feel
suitably qualified to comment on his capabilities and
performance. Jorge and I spearheaded many regional turn-key
projects, involving a broad range of broadband active and
passive telecommunications products needed to meet the
specifications, budgets and timelines for potential clients.
Jorge actually facilitated many of these joint-efforts with
multiple vendors in an expedient manner, ensuring timelines
were met; commitments were realized and turnkey packages
competitive.
Jorge is a sound processor of "data." He is able to assimilate
a considerable amount of facts, some of which may be
conflicting, develop a viable action plan, and effectively
communicate and facilitate this plan to a varied, multilingual
group responsible for implementing and realizing specific
sales objectives successfully. His ability was clearly evidenced
on a multitude of occasions within our joint sales efforts.
Furthermore, not only is Jorge excellent at facilitating a team's
objective, he was also the consummate team player; a trait
that I am positive would manifest itself within your

with Jorge. He was always available to extend his hospitality

I wish to provide a short reference for Jorge L. Gutierrez-Diaz,
with whom I worked a few years ago. It was a real pleasure for
us to work with Jorge. He was always upbeat and cared that
he completed his work accurately and timely. His work
involved communication with customers all around the world
via e-mail, fax and/or telephone. Jorge translated Spanish
correspondence and replied to them also.
Among the many things that Jorge was responsible, he was
asked to give presentations to customers in Latin America.
One in particular I remember was his trip to Peru. We received
several e-mails expressing what a good job he did and how
impressed they were with his bilingual technical sales
presentations involving Structured Cabling Voice & Data
Products. Jorge left Leviton as his wife obtained employment
