17. How to Grow through the Word Acknowledging the law of the Lord as perfect Effect: Conversion of soul.

18. How to Grow through the Word Accepting the testimony of the Lord as true Effect: Making wise the simple.

19. How to Grow through the Word Following the statutes of the Lord as right. Statutes are distinguished from common law. The latter owes its binding force to the principles of justice, to long use and the consent of a nation. The former owe their binding force to a positive command or declaration of the supreme power. The act of a corporation or of its founder, intended as a permanent rule or law. Effect: The heart rejoices.

20. How to Grow through the Word Receiving the commandment of the Lord as pure Effect: Enlightening the eyes.

21. Total Effect of Growth: The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever We will find that the Word of God is to be desired than gold, even fine gold and it is sweeter than honey and the honey comb.
