Students In Action is a national youth volunteer leadership, recognition and reward program, designed to pass the tradition of service on to the next generation. Co-developed by Jefferson Awards for Public Service and Deloitte, it is now in over 250 High Schools. Each spring, Student Leaders from the participating schools compete in regional competitions. They are asked to report on the implementation of the program, and the impact they've had, both in their schools and within their communities.

5. EXPANDS FINANCIAL CAPACITY FOR VOLUNTEERS SIA has sponsored one year-long fundraiser and campaign for breast cancer called, ‘Tutus for Tatas’. Our Jefferson Awards team assisted MAD (Making a Difference) in their yard sale fundraiser for Invisible Children.

6. TELL STORIES IN THE COMMUNITY When winners are announced, their accomplishments and community contributions are publicized throughout the school. Savannah Arts has had many press releases this year, and we plan on Finishing off our school year with one final press release, describing our winners and accomplishments in the 2009-2010 school year.

7. GROWTH AND EXPANSION OF SIA Through the fall leadership conference, we made new connections and exchanged ideas about SIA expansion with other schools in our area.
