– To rotate means to turn around an axis.
• Revolve
– To revolve means to turn around another object.

4. • The earth revolves around the sun, which
causes us to have seasons.
– When we are tilted towards the sun it is summer,
and when we are tilted away from the sun it is
winter.
• It takes the earth 365.2 days to make one
revolution around the sun.

5. • The earth takes 24 hours to make a full
rotation around its axis.
• When we are facing towards the sun it is day,
and when we are facing away from the sun it
is night.

• It also causes our planet to be wider
around the middle, not a perfect sphere
• Lastly, it causes a magnetic field around
The Earth that protects us from the sun’s
radiation and solar storms.
