7. Applicants must partner with Habitat for
Humanity in their mission.
All homeowners are required to do “sweat
equity” (that’s work on their own home and
other Habitat homes and projects).
A single-adult family must do 300 hours of
Sweat Equity
A two-adult family must do 500 hours.
8. Donations are used as designated by the donor
Gifts received by Habitat for Humanity that are
designated to a specific building project are
forwarded to that project. Any undesignated gifts
are used where most needed.
9. Trained & supervised experience staff
Each home build requires at least 2,500 volunteer hours
(including hours from future homeowners in sweat equity).
4 weekly crews of 10-15 members in addition to groups
from churches, corporations, and civic groups.
