Mary Jane Park and John P. Draney were Scottish pioneers who immigrated to Utah in 1856 with Mary Jane's mother and two children. They traveled with the second handcart company and settled in Plain City, Utah, where they had seven more children. Mary Jane was born in Ireland in 1827 and married John Draney in Scotland in 1850 before converting to Mormonism and making the journey to Utah by handcart and wagon train with other converts and immigrants.

Died: 16 Jun 1904 at Plain City, Weber, Utah
Mary Jane Park is the fourth child of Samuel Park Sr and Isabella Gray
Samuel and Isabella had six (6) children:
1- William /Park/ Born: 1821 Douglas Bridge, Tyrone, Ireland
2- John /Park/ Born: 1821 Douglas Bridge, Tyrone, Ireland
3- Hamilton Gray /Park/ Born: 26 Nov 1825 Newtownstewart, Tyron, Ireland
4- Mary Jane /Park/ Born: 17 Sep 1827 Newtownstewart, Tyron, Ireland
5- Samuel Jr. /Park/ Born: 14 Aug 1828 Newtownstewart, Tyron, Ireland
6- George /Park/ Born: 1832 Douglas Bridge, Tyrone, Ireland
Some time during 1832 early 1933 the family moved to Kilburnie, Ayrshire, Scotland
Her father, Samuel Park, Sr., died April 1833 just before or shortly after this move.
On 26 Dec 1841 Mary Jane’s brother, Hamilton Gray Park, was baptized a member of the LDS
Church. In about 1844 Hamilton Gray Park married Agnes Steele at Kilbirnie, Ayrshire,
Scotland. During 1850 he emigrated to SLC, Utah aboard the LDS charted ship “North Atlantic”.
On 31 Dec 1849, Mary Jane’s brother, Samuel Jr., married Jane Harvey at Kilbirnie, Ayrshire,
Scotland During 1850-51 Samuel, Jr became a member of the LDS Church, being baptized in
1851. Later his wife (Jane) became a member of the LDS Church. In late 1854 or early1855, with
his wife and sick child, Samuel Jr. left home and started to Utah, the home of the LDS Church.

2. John Pentland Draney Born: 17 March 1824, Drumaran, Tullylish, Down, Ireland
On 31 Dec 1850 Mary Jane Park married John Pentland Draney at Kilbirnie, Ayrshire, Scotland,
and on 24 Mar 1852 Mary Jane Park was baptized a member of the LDS Church.
They had three (3) children while living in Scotland:
1- Henry, Born: 28 Oct 1851 Died: 5 Feb 1853 Age Infant
2- Samuel Park, Born: 8 Oct 1853, Died: 8 Feb 1903 Age 50
3- Isabella Gray, Born: 28 Nov 1855 Died: 14 Jan 1946 Age 91
During 1855-56 Mary Jane Park Draney and her husband, John Draney plus two children,
Samuel and Isabella; with her mother, Isabella Gray Park, made the decision “Come to Zion”
and to emigrate to Salt Lake City, Utah
