6. Introduction
• This course will give the participant an introduction to verification
which includes a number of different aspects
• Different tester roles – what different types of testers are there and
what competence is needed for each role?
• Introduction to test tools – which tools are used and how do they
work on a very basic level
• Testing mindset – how a tester should approach their work, their
stakeholders, developers, and so on
• And a brief introduction to everything included in the other course
7. Basics
• This course will include everything a new tester needs to know
• How to work in the early stages of development – requirements,
system models, and how to work with this in an agile environment
• Different test methods and how to use them in scope selection
• How to design scripted tests and exploratory charters
• How to execute test cases and exploratory sessions
• How to reports test results and defects
• How to continue to develop skills and competence
8. Test Automation & Tools
• This course is suitable both more testers and developers
• Focus on test automation – what tools to use and how to design
automated test cases
• Hands on approach with exercises
• Testability mindset – what to think about when it comes to testability
• Also a discussion around tool supported testing and how to think
about tools and testing
• Test Environment Analysis – general information regarding how this
is done
9. Test Management
• Discussions around different kinds of test organizations – benefits
and problems with the different setups
• Test process – how to document test process, and how it looks in the
organization
• Test planning – how to based on the test process plan the different
test activities for a project
• How to communicate with different stakeholders, and how to identify
the correct stakeholders
• KPI, Lessons Learned and how to identify improvement areas
10. Summary
• With this learning and development plan the competence of the whole
organization will improve to a hygiene level
• There is a lot more to learn after completing all four courses
• Important to get not only testers to participate in the courses
