3RD Combat Aviation Brigade Change of Responsibility

The Forsyth Park Farmers' Market is back!
Saturdays, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Spring has sprung and the farmers and local food vendors will be at the South end of Forsyth Park

2. FRG Meeting Extended Care
Beginning 18 April 2011, Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will be doing extended care FRG meetings only on Tuesdays and
Thursdays. Anyone needing these services will need to contact their FRSA to make sure childcare is provided.
Fort Stewart and Hunter Army Airfield will no longer provide the extended care on Mon-days and Wednesdays. Please call 315-5425.
Stories, Music and Imagery
A Doorway to a Child’s Self Esteem Project is sponsored in part by the Arts Ashore Legacy Fund c/o The Savannah Community
Foundation, Inc. April is the month of the Military Child. In preparation for the celebration, a special 7 week program of stories, music
and imagery will be offered for children between the ages of 6-10, giving them new skills to cope with the stress of deployment
through music inspired creativity. All Children welcome.

34th Annual Vidalia Onion Festival
Vidalia, Georgia April 29 – 1 May, The Vidalia Onion Festival has been featured on The Food Network and recognized as one of the
five don't-miss festivals across the U.S. The 34th Annual Vidalia Onion Festival will kick off with its opening ceremonies Friday, 29
April 2011, at 1800 at Southeastern Technical College. A street dance, featuring live music from the Swingin’ Medallions, and
fireworks display will follow the ceremonies at the college. The Vidalia Onion Festival Air-show will be Saturday, 30 April, and
Sunday, 1 May at Vidalia Regional Airport. Other festival events include the arts and crafts festival, the Kiwanis Onion Run, the

“An American Salute to the Troops,”
12 May, 830, at Woodruff Theatre, Ft. Stewart. The USO Variety free show, in celebration of Spouse
Appreciation Week, begins at 1830 and is open to Active Duty Soldiers, Family Members and Army
Civilians. Seating is limited. Featured entertainers are all veterans of the stage, from song and dance to acting.

Ashley Davis is the reigning Miss Alabama 2010. After her year of service as Miss Alabama, she will
continue her education as a senior at the University of Alabama at Birmingham pursuing dual degrees in
3. Political Science and Public Relations. Ashley is a first generation college student and the daughter of retired military parents. She is
of Native American heritage and was born on an American military base in Germany. Beth Feller, who has numerous theatre, film,
and voice-over credits, and has starred in “I Do! I Do!- A Musical About Marriage.” She has entertained around the world with other
former Miss Alabamas in the “Bama Girls” USO shows. Jana McEachen, whose mezzo-soprano/belter voice is a crowd-pleaser and
always brings the audience to their feet. Her passion is for Performing Arts Education. Kristian Crowe, originally from Oxford, AL,
now lives in Atlanta. A graduate of Jacksonville State University, she grew up singing country and gospel music in churches and
festivals all over North Alabama. Mallory Hathcock's vocal talent was discovered at a very young age and from that developed a love
for writing as well. In 2009, she won first place in the Old Time Country and Bluegrass awards, which eventually led to the recording
of her first CD titled, “Country Sweetheart.”
Stephanie Shelton, a vocalist and performer from Tuscaloosa, AL., has numerous theatre and film roles to her credit. She has
performed for Mercedes Benz U.S. International, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, and at the Talladega Super Speed-way for the

Emerald Princess II Casino Trip

30th Annual SCAD Sidewalk Arts Festival
30 April 11 am – 5 pm, Downtown Savannah. The Savannah College of Art and Design's annual
Sidewalk Arts Festival draws thousands of visitors each year to view temporary chalk masterpieces created
on the sidewalks of historic Forsyth Park, Savannah, Ga. Participants represent SCAD's many areas of study;
different artistic styles are inspired by different cultures, interests and disciplines. The event features a

Immigration Fair
12 May- 1-4 pm; 13 May- 9 -4 pm, in Bldg 709, Ft. Stewart. Fort Stewart Legal Assistance Office is hosting an Immigration Fair
with the American Immigration Lawyers Association of Atlanta. These are immigration specialists who will assist Soldiers and
Family Members with immigration questions, give legal advice, and if necessary provide free legal representation. Services can range
from filling out forms and answering simple questions to complex naturalization and immigration status topics. This event is only
open to active duty status Soldiers and their dependants. Appointments can be made in advance by coming to the Fort Stewart Legal
Assistance Office in Bldg 709 or Soldiers and Family Members are free to walk-in on the day of the event.
Army Family Team Building (AFTB) Level III
17 - 19 May from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the HAAF Chapel Annex Classroom, Bldg 129. Level III “Lead” provides training to
enhance the professional growth and leadership-development opportunities for Family Members, especially those who might assume
advisory and mentoring roles within the unit and community. Topics include communication skills for leaders, leadership styles,

Soles 4 Souls One Walk
On May 14, people are rallying across the country to walk or run for children in need around the world. You can walk on your own,
with a team or start your own team for the OneWalk mission. 100% net revenue from the registration fee is dedicated to helping
deliver shoes to one of the 300 million children and untold adults around the world without shoes. Every dollar
raised provides one pair of shoes. How does it work? Well, OneWalk is your walk: you decided where; you decide how long.
Invited friends and start a team, get co-workers together or just hit the road by yourself. It doesn’t matter. It’s all
for the shoes anyways! How to get started: Individuals can register by visiting
www.soles4souls.org/get_involved/onewalk.html. Decide where and how long you want to walk for. Let us know
you are on board by visiting our Facebook tab and write on our wall. You’ll receive a registration package with a
custom t-shirt and other gift in the mail, three weeks prior to the walk day. Individual registration is $25. Teams
can register by visiting the same website and following the link for Teams. Set up a fundraising page in your team
name and encourage friends, family, and co-workers to register on your team page. A minimum donation of $25
will be required by each of your team members to be registered. As a Team Leader, you will receive a custom t-shirt and all
registrants will receive a standard t-shirt. All registrants will receive a complete registration package.
SABAN MILITARY WIFE EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP OFFERED:
Operation Homefront is awarding 22 scholarships totaling up to $237,500. They are offered to wives of uniformed service members to
attend various vocational training programs in the medical field. The awards will be based on the applicant's response to the essay
question and her commitment to volunteerism. Applications will be accepted starting March 1. Applications must be postmarked no
