2. Where does the woodpecker live?
- The woodpecker lives in the forest, but some of them can live
in rocky hills and deserts.
- The woodpecker lives all over the world, except in Australia.

3. Types of woodpecker
- 200 species.
- Some species are in danger of
extintion.
- They have different colours.
- Differents families of woodpecker:
«piculets», «wrynecks», «sapsuckers»
and «picadaes».

4. The woodpecker
- This bird has a strong beak for tapping
on the trees.
- The beak is long, sharp and strong.
- Its tongue is sticky to catch insects.
- They tap on trees, because they want
to catch insects or to make a nest.

5. What do they eat?
- They eat insects, fruits and nuts.

6. - Male and female incubate the eggs
about two weeks.
- They have a maximum of four eggs.
