I have gained feedback on my production tasks through the form of a
questionnaire sent to 10 members of the target audience. Here is a summary
of the results.
2. 1. After watching my finished film trailer,
does it meet the conventions of the
Psychological thriller genre correctly?
From the answers to this question I have found that my film trailer does meet
the conventions of the psychological thriller genre as everyone who answered
this question stated yes it does meet the conventions of the psychological
thriller genre.

antagonists correctly throughout the
trailer, and is it obvious which is which?
From this question I have found out that the protagonists and antagonists are
represented conventionally.
Being the protagonists as scared and weak, and the antagonists as strong and
dominant.

From this question I have found out that my film poster looks professional
and like an actual film poster for a movie from this genre, as the 10/10 people
answered yes.

professional?
From this question I have found out that my magazine cover looks
conventional to the majority, but a few people disagree and think it doesn’t
look entirely conventional. But as the majority say it does, I think it is a
success.

From this question I have found out that the majority of people think that I’ve
used colours, fonts, layout and images correctly within my film poster, as 9/10
people answered yes and only 1 person thought I didn’t completely meet these
correctly.

From this question I have found out that my magazine cover is not as
appealing as my film poster as more people stated I didn’t correctly use
colours, fonts, layout and images, even though the majority said I did. So
overall it was appealing but not as much as intended.

It conveys a correct conventional representation of the protagonists and antagonists.
It utilises the technical areas (Camerawork, editing, sound, mise-en-scene) conventionally and
correctly.
It displays conventional themes of the genre, being tension, mystery and action.
It leaves the plot on a cliff-hanger, making the audience want to watch the full film, matching
conventions of the form.
It’s eye catching and interesting.

To sum up, my film trailer was a success as there were limited negative points and the
majority of positive points linked to it being conventional and appealing to the target
audience.

Correct use of fonts and colours

The setting isn’t entirely conventional of the genre, although it’s conventional of the plot as it’s
an everyday location.

To sum up, my film poster is conventional and appealing to the target audience as it clearly
represents the characters conventionally and it relates to the genre, as well as looking eye catching.

The colours and fonts used are conventional as they relate to the genre and connote mystery
and danger.
The layout is conventional of the genre.
It looks like an actual magazine front cover.
The image represents the antagonist as strong and dominant, and also strikes fear across the
reader.
It uses conventional elements of magazine covers (eg. masthead, cover lines etc.)
Negatives:

Even though the image is conventional, it’s very bland and boring, which ruins the magazine
cover as it makes it less eye catching and interesting.
