Annual information security training (Back to Top)
By Feb. 17, all Revenue employees (including OPS and contractors’ employees) must complete the
Protecting Against Threats to Information Resources – REV21216 online training through the
Learning Management System (LMS). Employees received an email from Pathlore LMS Administration on
Jan. 20 with instructions to access and complete the training. Revenue does not require contractors’
employees who work in the state data centers or who work for six weeks or less as Revenue contractors
to complete the course. Please make sure your employees complete this required training by Feb. 17.
Annual automobile safety training (Back to Top)
By Feb. 25, all Revenue employees (including OPS employees) must complete the Automobile Safety
Training – REV23716 online training through the LMS. Employees received an email from Pathlore LMS
Administration on Jan. 28 with instructions to access and complete the training. Please make sure your
employees complete this required training by Feb. 25.
April 2016: Office 365 ProPlus upgrade (Back to Top)
All Revenue employees will migrate from Microsoft Office 2010 to Office 365 ProPlus (O365PP) as
Microsoft ends support for Office 2010. O365PP offers similar services and programs to Office 2010 (e.g.,
Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel and Outlook), plus a variety of added features. New programs include:
OneNote, a note-taking tool.
Skype for Business, a new instant messaging tool that replaces Lync. Skype for Business does not
include video messaging capabilities.
O365PP installs on an employee’s computer. Employees must connect to the Internet every 30 days for
O365PP to remain fully functional. When prompted, the employee will enter their Revenue credentials
2. (username and password) to validate O365PP. If employees do not connect at least once every 30 days,
O365PP enters reduced functionality mode. In reduced functionality mode, employees:
Can view and print documents.
Cannot edit documents.
Cannot create new documents.
When connected to the Internet, Microsoft checks the status of the employee’s O365PP subscription and
provides updates so employees will have the latest version of programs.
The Information Services Program (ISP) is leading the transition to O365PP. In the coming months,
Revenue will share more information about this migration in its newsletters and provide training
resources to help you learn the new programs. Please share this information with your employees as it
becomes available. If you have any questions about the migration, please contact Stephenie Lawhon at
lawhons@dor.state.fl.us or (850) 717-6919.
LMS website address (Back to Top)
As of close of business on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2016, ISP updated the website address (URL) to access
Revenue’s Learning Management System (LMS). This change helps increase system security and provides
a single website address for all Revenue employees and contractors’ employees. The updated URL is
https://learn.state.fl.us/stc/dor. Please update any bookmarks you may have saved.
ISP established a redirect for DORweb website content. If you use a hyperlink with the old address, the
intranet should automatically take you to the LMS login screen. Some historical documents on DORweb
may have the old website address; however, the redirect should assure you can access the LMS.
Please see the February department-wide key communication for more information and share it with your
employees. If you have any questions about the transition, please email the Office of Communication and
Professional Development (CPD) at AskCPD@dor.state.fl.us.
Clarification about employee separation process (Back to Top)
When a current Revenue employee moves to a new job at Revenue due to a promotion, lateral move,
reassignment or demotion, supervisors should not complete the entire separation process.
Instead, the employee’s current supervisor should:
1. Enter the employee’s name in the Revenue phone directory, select “Remove Access for” and
indicate “Internal movement within DOR.”
2. Complete the employee’s evaluation in People First prior to the employee’s last day in his or her
current position. This step is unnecessary for a lateral move.
The employee’s new supervisor should:
1. Send the Payroll Action Routing Checklist and associated documents to Human Resources (HR) at
AskHR@dor.state.fl.us.
2. Complete the “Set Expectations” steps in People First once the employee begins his or her new
position.
3. Complete the entire separation process only when an employee leaves Revenue (e.g., separation or
retirement) or when an Other Personal Services (OPS) employee moves to a Career Service, Selected
Exempt Service or Senior Management Service position at Revenue.
Please follow the steps on HR’s Separation Process - Step by Step Web page when an employee leaves a
Revenue position. If you have any questions, please contact AskHR@dor.state.fl.us.
The Learn & Use section provides Revenue supervisors with training in the form of brief tips.
Zero retaliation for discrimination complaints (Back to Top)
If one of your direct reports makes a discrimination complaint, remember:
It’s against the law to take a negative employment action against someone in retaliation for a
discrimination complaint.
Revenue has zero tolerance for negative employment actions, such as unjustified changes in
work assignments, in retaliation for discrimination complaints.
Supervisors must maintain confidentiality.
To learn more about supervisor responsibilities, refer to Revenue’s Non-Discrimination Policy and
Complaint Procedure, the Employee Relations website and the February department-wide key
communication. If you have questions, contact the discrimination intake officer at
EmployeeRelations@dor.state.fl.us.
