1. Looking back at your
preliminary task, what
do you feel you have
learnt in the
progression from it to
the full product?
2. Camera
In our preliminary, we
didn’t vary our shot
types, we were only
familiar with Over the
should and Long shots,
so we used them
throughout. But in our
final construction, we
used long shots, close
ups, over the shoulder
and point of view shots.
3. Mise en Scene
We didn’t consider lighting, costume or
setting in our preliminary. We filmed in a
class room and the lighting was pretty
bad, however in our final construction,
we took some time to think about the
costumes, settings and props. We also
worked with the lighting as we changed
the ISO settings on the camera and used
the LED lights for the camera.
4. Editing
Our preliminary was slow paced as we just placed our
footage after each other. Some shots went on for way too
long so when it came to the our film opening, we made
sure that we cut footage down and we had some black
screens. This would cause the audience to question what's
going on and keep them interested. Also continuity has
improved as we used it more often.
5. Sound
Our preliminary included some ambient sounds which
weren’t intended. This caused the dialogue to be
quieter. To prevent this, we made sure we used a
microphone for our dialogue. We also used background
music where appropriate to keep the audience
entertained because we seen that the silence would be
off putting. And we added some sound effects such as
gun shots to make it more intresting.
