2. Choosing Books for Babies
Look for books with:
• PICTURES of familiar objects
• Strong rhythm, rich language and
interesting sounds
• Simple Large illustrations
• Not a lot of text on the page
3. Introducing Books to
Your Baby
• Pick the best time to read
• Stop if baby is restless or upset
• Treat books as toys to be played
with
• Use expression to create interest

• Choose books with clear and
simple pictures
• Let your child see you reading
books, newspapers and
magazines that you enjoy
