4. Questions and Answers Q: What are the benefits of using Facebook? A: Facebook is a powerful networking tool. We expect to provide great resources to your customers, including author articles, videos of presentations, news items, and more. You will also be able to easily share Status Updates on special offers, contests, or new products and you can create Events to alert your network to your personal appearances. You will find that many of your customers are already using Facebook and they may be more accessible and responsive via the website. Q: Should I add personal friends? A: If someone searches for you using your work e-mail address, only your HMH page will come up. If they search for you by name, both of your pages will be displayed (including other people with your same name). The use of HMH logo head shots will make a clear distinction between your personal and professional page. You may indeed still get personal friend requests, and you are free to approve or deny them as you choose. You may add personal connections to your professional page if you feel comfortable doing so. After all, we all enjoy sharing our work!
5. Questions and Answers Q: How will I maintain this page? A: We do realize each person will participate at his or her own level, but it should take less than 10 minutes a day to update your page. We will be providing you with lots of rich content via the state pages. You can use the Share feature to post items of interest to your own page. We also encourage you to participate in conversations already taking place by using the Comment feature. You are also free to share occasional items of personal interest, such as articles or videos related to your own hobbies. Q: Will my privacy be protected? A: We have pre-set each account to optimal privacy settings. Everyone can view your Education Info and Work Info. This will make it easier for work contacts to find you. No one will be able to view photos tagged of you. Only friends will be able to view your complete profile. Once you are comfortable with the website, you may adjust these settings, but these are the default settings we recommend.
6. Questions and Answers Q: What do I do if I receive negative comments on my page? A: Negative comments may happen, and they are unavoidable. Hopefully, most customers will realize they should email you personally at your work email for issues regarding order fulfillment or customer service. If you do receive a criticism on your page, please first contact us. You should address the criticism with a professional, polite, helpful response. You should leave the comments in place for a brief time, after which you can delete them. Our aim is to show we are aware of concerns and we are willing to address them. Ignoring or deleting the comments would give the impression of avoidance. Of course, if a comment is particularly slanderous or vulgar, you should delete it immediately and alert us to the incident.
